Fall Bite on Ida

Was up the past couple weekends and the fish seem to be deeper water. Had some good fishing in 40' of water. Rigging and jigging. Water temp is still in the upper 60°.

You have to keep jumping around. Some at 40' plus. Some up to 25'. Jigs and minnows or crawlers worked. Don't fish if you don't mark fish. Don't keep anything over 18".

Well Saturday was tough with that wind/rain but still managed a few nice keepers 15-17". Sunday morning was good. Got a nice fat 20" in about 30' at sunup that went back in the water and a nice keeper at 17"...a couple smaller 10"-13" as well.

Lost a nice one (guessing 25+) near the boat.

I stayed away from the crowd in the popular areas and found them anywhere from 25'-40' on mid lake structures..

Was on the water Friday through Sunday morning. Managed a couple nice fish Friday night. Saturday for the most of the day was very slow. Maybe because the Hurricane that went through. Manage a couple early and not much till about 6:30. Then we able to locate some fish. My partner and I caught 25. Missed many more. Lots of 14" and smaller. The fish we kept were 15.5"-18"Nice fish. It was a blast for a hour or so.

Headed out yesterday morning and manged to catch few more. But once the sun got above the tree line it was all done where I was at.

Heading up again this coming Friday (which can't get here soon enough). I'm hoping the weather is somewhat decent and would love to get out rooster hunting part of one of the days.
