We fished a couple days before Christmas off of Pine in a variety of depths ranging from 18 to 30 feet. Caught and released a # of smaller walleyes and saugers, many cigars, nothing too exciting. Few Pout, too. We were disappointed in not catching any walleyes over 13 inches. Anyone know if bigger and/or more consistent size fishing are coming west of Pine or over by Warroad?

Fished off Pine Island this morning and managed only to scrape 2 saugers. Fished in 28-31 feet of water to the west side of the road going straight out. Stopped to talk to some others on the way out at noon and others were having the same luck. Did not see a lot of fish on the Vex either.

4 of us fished a mile west of pine the 26th, from 8:30 - 4:30. 25' till noon and 28' after that. Caught better than 100 with about a third small walleyes. Only kept 3 walleyes, 18 nice sauger and 6 huge perch. Released a 27 1/4" walleye at 4pm. Had 8 other buddies spread out 1/4 mile each side of us and they did about the same. Most eyes came out deep 2-3 feet off bottom.

fished west of twin islands on the 26th. Lot of action until about 11am. Brought home a nice bucket of fish, nothing big. Chubs seemed to do as well if not better than shiners.
------------------
ccat
