Fantasy football keeper question

Ok, I come to you for knowledge, or perspective.

I can keep one guy this year, and value is what I am looking for.

Should I either keep Ridley for a fourth round slot or R. Cobb for an eighth round slot?

Keeping Ridley means I can hit up a top tier WR in the 2nd round, but keeping Cobb means I would have to draft RB RB and then get a WR in the 3rd.

12 team league, flex, 50/50

Personally I'd keep Cobb and draft RB RB. Statistically it's tough for me to lean one way or the other (I assume that's probably why you're asking this question in the first place). What made me say Cobb is... well, I have always liked him, and don't really like RB's from NE on my fantasy squad. Not until Brady's arm falls off anyway.

Ridley is the clear #1 in NE, and most importantly he gets red zone carries. Plus there is an extremely limited supply of RB after round 1. I would definitely keep Ridley.

For sure !!!!! The number one WR in greenbay has changed the last three years. Go with the RB. If you have any other choice take it. Both are second tier fantasy players, so far.

Ridley will be a top 10 rb this year, and Cobb has a good shot at his position as well. Not elite guys yet, but well worth keeping at those slots.

Also, do you know the position you draft in? Because if you were mid to late in a snake you could grab one of the top 10 RB's with your first pick then swing around for a SJAX, BUSH, FORTE, etc. But of course knowing who the others keepers are is important and whether it's PPR

You can get Ridley in the 3rd and 4th round without keeping him so there's not much value there. All your doing is assuring yourself you get him on your team, which is fine if you want him.

Cobb is slipping down the charts because of his bicep injury, I've been seeing him go later and later in the mocks. Some people won't even touch him.

We do what you would call value keepers. You cannot keep anyone from the first two rounds last year, and you have to give up two rounds to keep someone. So I drafted Ridley in the 6th and got Cobb from the WW so these are the best value. I could keep Peyton Manning in the 3rd, but that is pretty stupid this year.

I don't know the draft order until after keepers are submitted, so that doesn't help, otherwise this would be an easy choice based on draft position.

I feel bad for these "draft experts". I've already been in 6 drafts and Ridley has gone in the 4th 3 times, in the 3rd twice, and in the 2nd once. I personally wouldn't touch him until the 4th, with the way Brady likes to throw TD's and how the Pats like to try all the tricks at the goaline, not to mention the revolving door of RB's.

Anything can happen in Fantasy but we'll have to check back to this at the end of the season and see if Ridley is a 2nd rounder.

You do know that NE piled up the 7th-most rushing yards in the NFL last year, right? And that Ridley is their clear feature back? And the Belichek is never afraid to pound the ball - as long as he has a back he can trust? And that the two-headed TE terror that drove their passing attack in recent years is now gone (Hernandez permanently, Gronk for at least several weeks) meaning that far more red zone looks will go to Ridley?

I envy you...playing in leagues with such noobs makes winning that sweet cash that much easier.

You can go right down the list and pick everyone where the "pros" have them ranked that will be fine by me lol. The sheep draft by how they are ranked on the charts, same thing different year.

Wow Ridley was a punisher, one fumble gets you in the doghouse in NE and there is already a RB controversy going on.

Rough start to the year for sure... But I got Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas with my first two picks... ended up picking 8th so either way I was kinda hosed. Really wish I would have went R. Bush with the second round pick instead of Thomas now though.... RB's are seriously hurting.

Keep me in mind for next year - one of my leagues dissolved and I'd like to find a new one to join.

The Ridley project is off to a [PoorWordUsage] start, for sure But I stand by my assessment. Especially after last night's game with WR dropping balls left and right, I think Ridley (provided he doesn't cough up the ball) will get a heavier workload and will produce just fine.

Actually the draft I had right after our conversation there was a heavy run on RB and I ended up taking Ridley toward the end of the 2nd round.

Then my very next draft Ridley was still hanging there at the end of the 4th round so I grabbed him. I was hoping he was a steal but he's been a turd so far. I would of been better off starting some bench players over him.

Bush is good but he won't be able to hold up, he never has, he already has like 3 injuries after 1 game lol. If you get Bush you have to also grab Bell as a handcuff. I have Bush in 1 league and have Bell in a few for when Bush goes down, same reason I grabbed Tate toward the end of my drafts in almost every league.

The thing that worries me about Ridley is alot of his yards and TD's came from garbage time when they were way ahead of people. If the WR's can't get open and keep dropping balls everyone will just focus on the run and make the rookie WR's beat them, if Debbie Amendola and Gronk ever get healthy it should help Ridleys cause.

Well, Bilal Powell is offically kicking Ridleys butt. Wow, a 14th rd pick over a keeper in the 4th. This fantasy football can make you look like a real silly-me.

Belicheat likes to trick everyone he even tricks himself most the time. Wow he fumbled, it happens, move on, instead he tries to prove he can just put someone else back there and be fine. That's what worried me about the Ridley pick.

Kind of like the Giants with Wilson, your best RB fumbled at the beginning of Week 1 so just don't give him the ball anymore, just put some scrubs in there so you can go 0-3 and look like fools with no offensive what so ever. That will teach em!!

The worst part with Wilson is, he is so afraid of fumbling he keeps two hands on the ball at all times. Taking any chance of being explosive or effective away from him.

Luckily for me I took Mccoy with my 1st pick when I took Ridley in the 2nd and snatched up Peyton in the 3rd so it hasn't stung as bad.

Still sucks to waste a 2nd on a RBBC guy, that is where you can take Graham, Marshall, Green, Bryant, ect.

In the league I took Ridley end of 4th he was my 3rd RB taken so not much of a burner there.

Ridley should beat out Blount soon for all early down work, but now you got Bolden in the mix and he'll be the 3rd down back and in on passing plays. They are using Blount to run out the clock because he doesn't fumble so that even takes away from Ridleys garbage time yards and td's.

If you were going RB in the 2nd no matter what you wouldn't of done much better so far with guys like MJD or Jackson. Here's to hoping Bolden and Blount fumble soon LMMFAO

Well, update for this, I'm 5-2 and heading into this week against the worst team in the league. As for the Cobb/Ridley debate, injury now says I took the right guy... and I also picked Vereen off the WW this week for depth there.

RB has been a challenge, but the "do-th-opposite" theory has worked well so far for me....

I'm 4-3 in the money league that I took Ridley in the 2nd and Wilson in the 4th. Got a big win last week heading into Monday Night Football tied with the guy I was playing, he had AP as his RB and I had Jacobs in the FLEX, then Jacobs was ruled out so I hurried up and plugged in Hillis.

Hopefully the Ridler turns it on for us down the stretch, with Gronk back it will open things up a bit and they might actually get a lead at some point lol.

Hey hey, Ridler stepped up for me and helped secure a big win I needed this week. It was nice to see he was right back in on the next drive after he fumbled.
