Wrong bait?

My wife and I have a seasonal campsite just north of Bemidji and I took my parents up to Red for the day on Saturday the 15th for an afternoon of fishing.

What an awesome time! The lake was a little rough, but we managed to get out. first spot was about straight out from Westwinds and not a nibble for the fist 40 minutes. Moved about a mile or so down shore and anchored in 7 feet and were done in under 2 hours. All nice fish. Threw back 7 under 14" and the rest were all keepers 14-19". A few perch also.

Got back to the camper and when I cleaned the largest walleye, there was a chicken leg bone in its stomach! Are we using the wrong bait? LOL. That was a first for me after all the hundreds of walleyes I have cleaned in my lifetime!

The other day while we were catching fish left and right I was thinking to myself, I bet a person could catch walleyes on a piece of chewing gum right now! laugh

Never thought of a drumstick either!

There have been times where I thought to myself that if I dropped the pliers right now,.........they wouldn't hit the bottom!
