The 60's and 70's were clearly tough on some people, but man I do love that song.

In my younger years, I have done some 4 wheelin back in the field roads to get to the river bottoms, but I wouldnt do it now.

Most of the river bottom roads are either private, and they dont appreciate it much when you tear them up, or they are Minimum Maintenance raods, and are shared with more then one owner, and they dont like it much either. Tearing up the field roads, is a good way to get the access shut down, so if you have a road, that you use to get to your favorite fishing hole, I recommend staying off of them when it is muddy.

It is also against the law to drive on the sand bars as well, so if you are actually driving down to the river on the sand bars, you better hope you dont run into a grumpy DNR agent that day.

Well, sometimes there isnt a big bank to get onto sandbars, so yes, you can just drive onto sandbars.

As far as tearing your own land up, go for it, I was just posting to let others know, it isnt a good idea to just find a river bottom road, and drive on it with your big 4x4 truck, and start tearing things up. If is is yours, do as you please, but do know, there are still state and federal laws that limit what you can do in wet lands, even if it is your own property. On that, cheers to you, hope you have a fun weekend, and get to play in the mud, I use to do it years ago, and it is fun. Blowing stuff up is just is just icing on the cake. The fish are starting to bite, hope you get a chance to wet a line.

4WE you and I were pulled out of the mud by the same couple of guys back in the day, and it used to be a great time to wheel down to the river and like you said I wouldn't want to do it now. Land owners can get pretty irate and a person could face some pretty stiff penalties for damaging and trespassing on some of these areas.

I do how-ever remember a few times being buried to the bottom of the doors and this monster of a tractor chugging along to come and get us out, but those days are long gone.

Very sad when people go out onto others field roads and tear them up and then drive into the wet fields and do the same.

Fine if it's ones own property but the sad part is, too many do it on private land.

Then those same people wonder why landowners post thier land and proscute to the full extent of the law. harder to get on private property every year yet along having some do damage to others fields and private roads.

You jump in front of my car when you,

You know all the time that

Ninety miles an hour, girl, is the speed I drive

You tell me it's alright, you don't mind a little pain

You say you just want me to take you for a ride

You're just like crosstown traffic

So hard to get through to you

Crosstown traffic

I don't need to run over you

Crosstown traffic

All you do is slow me down

And I'm tryin' to get on the other side of town

I'm not the only soul who's accused of hit and run

Tire tracks all across your back

I can see you had your fun

But darlin' can't you see my signals turn from green to red

And with you I can see a traffic jam straight up ahead

You're just like crosstown traffic

So hard to get through to you

Crosstown traffic

I don't need to run over you

Crosstown traffic

All you do is slow me down

And I got better things on the other side of town
