Aqua View ??

I have been thinking about picking one of these up. Do these things work well in heavily stained water? I fish mostly dirty water, heavy algae blooms, and dont want to spend the money if they dont work well in that environment. Any of you guys that have em use them in really dirty water?

I own one and I feel it does not show a good picture in stained or dirty water. I have not had good luck with it on Red, Gull, and a few other bog stained lakes. But I feel if you do fish some clear or fairly clear lakes it is a great learning tool which to use and is worth buying.

I did some reading on these units and I cant decide if I want to go with the Infared or the multicolor camera. They say that the multicolor is better at night than the I.R. but I cant find anything about its daytime performance. Any thoughts?

Before you go with the Aqua-View, take a look at the Marcum OVS 560. Sounds like just the ticket that you are looking for

I have the Marcum ovs 500 and it has infra red and multi color lights, it is the best camera on the market without a doubt. I haven't found a lake yet that I couldn't see. Aqua view does not offer both lights on any of there cameras, you get one or the other unless you own 2 aqua views.

I've got and Aqua-vu z-series. this has the infered lights. I would have to say that this is the bst thing I've bought in a long time. I have no problems with it, I've been able to see everything and everything. Its been durable as well. I've never seen the Marcum, but I'm sure its a good product as well. But I wouldn't give up my aqua-vu in a million years.

are all the.....Aqua Vu Models Made for Ice Fishing or can be used for Ice fishing......or just the Ice Pro??

Most of the units are made for both ice and open water fishing. If they come with a stabilizer fin, they will work for open water.

The light position on the new MarCum VS 560 will allow for better viewing under low light. The problem with many cameras is that they are looking directly through the light beam (lights surrounding the camera head). With the VS 560, the camera is looking below the light beam, thus less particles are illuminated between your intended target and the camera head. The illuminated particles are what blocks your view when viewing with the lights.

I've used a camera out on Red with okay success. You can't see as far and they don't help as much, but you still can see your bait within a couple feet and look for structure on the bottom.
