Guest
Yes We are still driving but its getting slushy. Still alot of ice on the chain but always take precautions. It wont be long at all till vehicles are a no go. Shorelines are starting to get beat up good.
bassNspear
there was open water in 3 of the 5 landings I check on this am. I would suggest to not drive on the lake after this weekend.
hardwater55319
I was out this morning checking lakes and notice that the accesses by getting beat up from the rain. Also noticed that all the snow has turned to slush. I going to give Briggs a try today. I do think I will be using wheeler to get around today. Rick G
Time to go see how the Chain held up to the rain. I would liketo drive out but if I can't we might just walk today. I know the ice is plenty good, but the access points are always first to go.
Naturboy
Keep driving if your truck floats. but the accesses will hold up longer to foot traffic than to trucks and atvs breaking that fragile shoreline ice.
HossFisher
Drove by Locke Lake today and one truck had ventured out. Everybody else had walked out to the hole near 94.
hardwater55319
I was out on Briggs fishing from 10-2 saturday and couldn't beleive that there where so many vehicles out on the lake. With all the water on the ice and in many spots that the water was flowing very fast through the holes and cracks back into the lake made conditions very bad for vehicle traffic imo. Fishing was quite good right away when I got out there. Picked up some descent sunnies and a limit of crappies from 9.5"- 11.5". Sunnies in 12'fow and crappies in 18'fow suspended at 10'-12' using larva and small jigs and plastics. Hopefully will be able to get this next week before the ice gets to bad. 'we have more fun' FishingMN Creators Borch Posted April 1, 2013 'we have more fun' FishingMN Creators Share Posted April 1, 2013 The lakes I hit this weekend where still good for truck travel. Like overs have said plenty of ice but the landings get beat up first. Looks like everything will likely lock up again with this little cold snap but with the temps they are forecasting for the end of the week it'll get sloppy again quickly.
