ted4887
Let's get a head count. Who here is going to the Great Waters Expo next weekend (23-24th)? Unfortunately, they are slacking on releasing the schedule and exhibitor list right now. I think Ic3wind, itchmesir, and myself will be up there Saturday. Until they release the schedule though, it's hard to say what time we will be there. Is there any interest with the guys that will be there Saturday going out that evening to meet up for some food? itchmesir
6 days and counting. I'm going to limit myself to only 1 new rod this year, I think. I'm hoping my taxes get done this week so I know just how much wonga I'll have, or not have for the GWE. Make sure you bring your own reel and line if you expect to cast any Allen rods
ted4887
Yeah... no more 3wt line on 6wt rods. The only rod I'm really interested in is a 9wt BVK anyways. And maybe a 7 wt too, but we'll see.
itchmesir
I wouldn't mind picking up something in the 6' range 2wt maybe... or maybe a new Alpha III for my 9wt Redington...
OnAFly
Any chance JPL would be filming his talk on carp fishing? That's about the only one of those I am interested in.

CraftyTurtle
I will be there I will also have my wife with I am excited about the event it should be a good time. Ted if I were u I would strongly look into the 9wt st croix legend elite on the. Web site it was like 255 on close out. I had a 10 wt. bvk and I castes it up against Ryan's 9wt. Legend elite and. The bvk has a weird flex or give to it. It collapses every time. I sold it cheap and bought a 9 and a 10 wt. ST. Croix legend elite i could bring it with if u want and compare
ted4887
Just can't do it man. I've cast the SC LE before, and it just felt funny in my hands. Something just didn't jive with me with it. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
Slabasaurus
It's too far of a drive for me... just kidding. Link to the schedule I'm going to be there all day Saturday. I hope to walk out of there with a rod or two, but first stop will be JPLs carp chat. Gonna stop by to see Bob White too, that guy has some stories. I will be keeping an eye open for a couple rods as well, maybe even a switch rod. We'll see. I have a feeling the JPL chat may influence the decision on rods actually... I'm down for some food/brews sometime during the day or evening saturday, definitely no shortage of good food around the area.
