Fisky, any reports from the springsteel area? I'm going up on the 26th and wondering about ice and fish around there. I had some good luck out there last year at this time...just wondering...thanks

So far this season, this area has been the dead sea. I'm sure it will improve at some point.

I will have to agree with Widetrack. I fished Fri-Sun in that area and Buffalo bay. It was very slow, the only action was some nice perch. No keeper walleyes at all. I think the biggest was maybe 13". 2 keeper saugers was it for those 3 days. Nothing like last year at this time. I hope it picks up as the year goes along. The ice was good 10-12 inches. I drove the snowmobile out. I did see a couple of vehicles out but I sure would not try it as someone told me they seen 7 inches of ice in some spots.
