Going out of Appledoorns Fri-Sun. Looking to find a daytime northern tip-up bite. Any ideas? I've never tried it before. If that aint happening planning to look for perch. What's the deal w/them? Are guys catching em & staying that tight-lipped? I haven't seen any positive posts or heard any positive reports.

It is a little early for perch yet they will start picking up as we move thur this month.

I've got nothing to offer you regarding northerns...I only catch one every two years or so by accident.

Regarding the perch, have they been more difficult to find than normal? Yep (at least for me). Are the guys who are catching them being more tight-lipped than normal? Yep.

There is a weedbed in the shallows in sunset bay about where hwy.18 comes in. Always a few shacks out there and you can get a few perch and pike if ya find some green weeds. Pike are pretty tough in feb. Even my go to spots pretty well shut down.
