We found Bowstring very tough going on 1-29- 13 after the new snow. The heave by the West access raised another 2'-3'. One guy was stuck on it and we pulled him off it. The resort right next to it let us on for 5.00 each. Spent a lot of time stuck and one snowmobile overheated. Had to go get more antifreeze. 2 pickups stuck a lot . Caught 12 crappies for 5 guys and went back to the cabin. 10-12 " of new snow. don't know about any but the West side. Use a buddy system if you go. Sand wasn't much any better. Very slow for perch and walleyes. Any then new snow. Stan C.

There is over a foot of new snow in the last week. The 11" of snow from 28 January has been wind driven and is hard & drifted. Last weekend we had a hard time traveling with a 1 ton superduty with really aggressive tires. Last nights snow and the forecast snow should make it "snowmobiles only" until it starts to thaw.

20" of good clear ice. Late ice should be much better this year and hopefully last longer. I imagine there will be some slush between now and then. Stan C.

No plowed roads that we saw on the West side. Bowstring Shores resort some years has a small(short) road out of their place, NE. Stan C.
