Tullibee's On Bemidji

Recommended Posts

I was kind of looking to go catch some tullibee's on Bemidji and have no idea how to fish for them. Just wondering what to use and maybe some general areas where to start. Thanks

That's good to know.

The lovely lady wants to visit Bemidji, so why not fish while we're there!

I'm looking at hitting some tullibees, as they are fun to reel in. But will be in the search for some eyes and crappies as well.

Thanks.

Do they become easier to find/catch in march? I'm heading to LOTW in the middle of the month, and might be able to stop in bemidji for a day on the way up.

You can probably catch your fill up on LOW... lot's of them being caught this year on last year too for that matter.

We stopped for a couple hours on Saturday from like 12-2 we found em hanging with perch in shallow water. They were digging minnow heads and just about any presentation offered. Same for perch, except they preffered whole minnows. Left for Plantan at 2, and wish we would of stayed put..

And yes Tullies are snapping at LoTW.

I think it would just be nice to stop somewhere and fish that is a little bit closer, and then make the rest of the trek to LOTW the next morning. Plus it's always fun fishing a new place for the 1st time smile

No travel off the roads with out a plow. High clearance and chains might work. Snowmobiles are even iffy at this point. Getting pretty slushy out there.

Jarrid, did you drill holes where a perm was, right next to that berm? Pretty sure I know where you were, as I put my shack back on a spot I had pulled it from and there were holes next to where my shack had been sitting, and some right in the footprint. Haha! Loads of tullies there...

Chris is right, travel sucks. Sleds are getting better after that cold, as it cinched up the top layers a bit. Still not great though... with the warmup it might get junky for a couple of days...

Travel still sucks...I was pushing several inches of slush and ice with the wheeler last weekend. There was easily 8 inches of water on the ice where I was...
