Mille Lacs Pike

I have a big group of guys heading up to the pond next weekend. We are staying out of Mac's twin bays. A few of us one to do some tip up fishing for some pike. Where would be the best place to look for pike this time of year. I was thinking Isle bay and find a weed line and go from there. What would you suggest for bait...live suckers, dead suckers, smelt? I dont fish pike very often I just thought it would be fun to do for a few hours. Any information would be great!

Might want to check out the south twin first. They usually dont plow there but not much of an issue this year. But yeah, grab a weedline. You will catch more off a light pike size, but usually buy a few big ones and go for the gold. Would fish live maybe half way down and dead anywhere from a 1/3 down to a foot under the ice. I generally do not use prepackaged, so cant really say if they work any better.....or worse. Johnsons usually has them, and if with a group, why not give it a shot. Have fun!
