Fishing houses flooding on Fish Lake

Recommended Posts

A large pressure ridge has formed on Fish Lake north of Duluth and was rapidly flooding the surface of the lake on Saturday, said Tim Wagner, who operates Hi Banks Resort on the Lake.

The pressure ridge runs east and west from Birch Island in the main part of the lake, he said. He estimated its length at 200 to 300 yards.

Some fishing houses have already flooded, Wagner said, and he expects many more could be affected. If they flood and subsequently freeze, they will be difficult to remove from the lake, he said.

Tonight’s temperature is expected to drop well below zero.
