Mac Twin Bay

I'm heading up tomorrow to a sleeper from Mac's. Wondering if anyone has experience in the area. Action? Crowds? Roads? Tackle? Would like to get out with the portable during the day. Depths to look for or should I plan to drive further from the sleeper to find fish during the day? Any help is greatly appreciated. First time out this year for me and can't wait!

Me and group of guys will be heading up to Mille Lacs in 2 weeks and I'm wondering if anyone has rented from Mac Twin Bay before and what kind of experience they had. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have a perm. out of there and Kevin runs a a top-notch outfit as far as service and roads. Fishing the S/E corner out of Mac's will give you access to shallow rocks, deep rocks, gravel bars and transition areas, If you are renting a house they will help put you on fish. The bite now is normally out in the deeper gravel, 21-26ft. look for those transition areas where sand meets gravel. On Sat. nights your can hear a few fishing reports at Buzzie's, They can help- if you remember them!

We had a perm out of Macs for several years. I fully agree with the above post, Kevin,Karen,Jim and the guys on the ice are all top notch folks. They bust butt to help in anyway they can. Good luck, have fun.
