What's with my Lund??

Norco

Question

I just bought A Lund SSV 14 and have been on the water at least 3 times a week. As of the last week I have had the aluminum flexing in the bow end near the bottom on the left side. If I go over any wakes or on water with minor white caps the boat makes this terribly loud sound as the aluminum flexes in and out. Would this be a warranty issue? does any one else have this problem?? I sure am dissapointed in the quality of this boat. What do you guys think?? I do have an appointment with the dealer next week.

There may be a couple possibilities. It may be possible that the aluminum was damaged,(Did you buy it new or used)? and improperly repaired. Sometimes repairs will stretch the metal so that it creates the "oil can" effect. (Popping in and out). The other possibility is that one of the structural ribs is not attached the way it needs to be. See what the dealer has to say and if they're not sure what to do with it, we'd be happy to look at if for you and see what we can do with it.

Thats the first thing that came to my mind also. The aluminum got stretched one way or an other.

Is stretching of the aluminum covered under Boat warranty? I bought the boat brand new a couple of months ago and figured that Lund is the idustry leader in strength and quality boats, I may have been wrong!

It better be covered. If your dealer dont give you justice call Lund and tell them about it. Any good dealer would take care of you!

Great thanks for the advice guys, I will get a new boat either from the dealer or Lund itself. It really peeves me when I spend top dollar and get junk. They say in the catalogue that they drop these boats from float planes in the North from heights of 100-200 feet to ice cold water yet mine could not take a few trips on lake with mild white caps. How is Lund to deal with on warranty? They say they have the best? Anybody deal with them??

We've never had any negative experiences dealing with Lund or any of their dealers, so I am optimistic that they will take care of you. My guess is that it's probably not an issue of quality, (because Lund does have very high quality control standards) rather, it was probably just a fluke random defect, which is difficult to avoid in any manufacturing process. Nonetheless, it needs to be addressed and I'm sure that you won't have any problems. Good luck.

I had my hull dent a couple of weeks ago. Lund has been very good they have it now and told me it would be 3 to 4 weeks. I have a 1700 fisherman. I noticed it sounded like a barrel flexing when I hit a waves long before it happened. There is not ribbing in thehull on mine, they said they would reinforce it with ribs.

I can't see the flexing when Im at the back of the boat but can hear it ( sounds terrible) but the person sitting near the bow can see it flexing and usually place their feet there to stop it.

We fished Thursday - Saturday. Couldn’t get any marks to bite on the west end so started east. Caught lots of 9-15” eyes on the mud side of the transition. Mostly crawlers for us on Thurs-Fri but bite changed to minnows on Saturday. Our rainbows ran small but had a few big chubs mixed in. Big chubs we’re best. No eyes on small suckers.  A jig and sucker or crawler on 9-14’ rocks got smallies going in several places. Rocky points coming off islands also produced smallies with tubes, deep jerkbaits and ned rigs on east end. Also landed a 45” ski on a crawler harness.

I also don’t really believe that you can earn online casinos. There you can play, put bets, win and more often lose money. In the casino for Norway, the same rules apply as for the rest of the casino. If you are lucky, you will win. But to earn money, it is unlikely.
