How many resorts plow roads?

Coming to the lake next week and wondering which resort/road to use. The only one I really know about is westwinds because I have fishing with them before. Just wondering if there are any other resorts that also plow roads.

Just past Westwind you will see Hillmans, they also maintain an ice road from the east side. Bait shop right there when you pick up your road pass

Also I would like to know some information on pricing for road passes and if resorts charge for leaving your house on the lake off their road for the season.

Jeff I believe the road passkat Hillmans is 10.00, can't help you with the cost to leave the house overnight as we use the resort houses. Looks like some awfully cold weather headed our way the week the wife and I were headed there. D amn wife has rheumatoid arthritis, extreme cold is not a good thing. Going to have to watch the forecast and maybe adjust the plan. Last thing I would want to do but might not have a choice. She deserves the trip so not leaving home without her

Just pass Hillmans is Beacon Harbor. It's $10.00 for the road pass and I don't know what they charge to park your house. Talk to Dean at Beacon really good guy.

I do not believe that Beacon's or Hillman's charges you to park your house on shore if you are using their road. Working around the lake from Westwinds I believe that Red Lake Adventures still has a road, Roger's, Mort's and JR's. Hopefully I didn't miss anyone.

Thanks for all of the heads up everyone! I will check a couple of those places when i'm up there in two weeks. Bill, hopefully you guys can make the trip. It would suck to cancel or leave the wife at home!

Looks like we are definitely going to make the run. She is a trooper and loves to fish, so I'm thinking it will work. No doubt once inside of Kelly and Johnny's houses life will be cozy, maybe even catch some fish that is if Kelly's fine dog is on the trail.

Bill,

If you are in the 2 person house you can put your wife on the bottom bunk to fish and she can have a rattle reel and jigging/bobber hole within reach during the day. The houses are as warm as you want them to be, believe me, LOL My 10 year old was catching fish on a pole from the top bunk and flying down the steps for any rattle reel that went off, including mine grin

Glo red glo rattlin flyers and red glo gemineys's were good for us.

Enjoy!!!

If it is gonna get cold and miserable I say some small fats or crappie minnows. #6 or even #8 plan red hook with a green slip bobber bead on the line and trim the minnows tail. 2-5 inches off the bottom. You really need to try Red in Dec once Bill.

Xplorer, I ended going out to "your" house after you left and did not mark a thing in over an hour...then a few hours later, the people who came in after you just slaughtered them grin

Also agree with Buck, when the going gets tough will always go to the full live crappie minnows and downsize the jigs to 1/16 or 3/16ths as well. No squishing sushi heads for this cowboy......and yep, red gloooowwww........
