Anyone been out there on the ice yet this year?

i drive by there all the time. I havent seen anyone out there yet. Some nice panfish in there.

Does the ice get thick out there?? It is spring fed is it not?

It can be spotty. Last year wasn't real safe most of the year. I would think it should be fine this year. The geese didn't stick around as long this year. It is spring fed but its also been so dry this last year that the water is down several feet.

Yeah i've heard of some nice pike being pulled out of there in the past. I wonder what other species lives in there, if any, besides pike and gills.

I've caught nearly every mn species out of there, except trout.

Iced two crappies and a small perch on Saturday. Marked a ton of fish but couldn’t get much to bite.

I have a friend that lives in the town homes next to it. He fished it a lot this winter with very few fish to show for it. Last summer hid did ok out there in his kayak. All fish but one pike were released so there are still some fish in there.
