charging issue??

When I try to charge my fish house batteries with the charger plugged into a generator it will not fully charge the batteries. When I plug the charger into a wall outlet it does charge them fully.

Would the issue be the charger??? Or do all chargers do the same when running off a generator???

similar issue I had this weekend with my vexilar battery...it wouldn't charge to 100% only 95% in the fishhouse ran off the generator but when I got home it charged for another hour or so and was 100%

Not sure if this will cure your problem but its worth a try anyways .. try plugging in a lite bulb in the generator ( this should kick in the charging system) and then you charger for the battery's should work.

I agree, the load off the charger isnt enough to cuase a draw on the generator. Adding a load will help that.

It'd be interesting to know if the added load does anything. Can't think of why it should. The generator attempts to be a voltage source. But, since it's not a perfect voltage source, output voltage typically sags as more and more load is added.
