Good Deals on House Rentals?

Can anyone recommend an outfitter that can put you on fish at a good price? I want to get away for a couple days with my girlfriend. We were considering going up to itasca state park, but my dad mentioned that one of his coworkers had recently gone up to URL and rented a sleeper for $20/person per night and they had a blast and caught a lot of fish. We are on break from SCSU and we don't have much money, so this deal sounds pretty attractive. So far I haven't been able to find any outfitters who offer sleeper houses at that rate.

That rate was advertised when the sleeper houses were on shore earlier in the season. That deal is probably no more since all the sleeper houses should be on the lake.

If you are able to find a deal like that you will also likely have trouble finding a house that isn't already rented since its less than half the going rate for most houses.

Your best bet for finding a hot deal is to pick your dates (weekdays are better) then call around looking for any last second openings. Maybe if you get lucky someone will give you a deal in order to fill the house instead of letting it sit empty.

However, from my experience trying to book a trip it appears houses are filling up pretty well. So not much need to offer a discount.
