looking for some gills

I am going to take my 4 year old boy out ice fishing this weekend for the first time. Anyone have any sugestions on a good lake to get him into some fish around Mankato. They don't have to be large ones, just something to get him hooked on fishing.

Clear Lake in Waseca would be a good lake for numbers.

Washington. Or usually little Jefferson is filled with covers that are easy to catch.

Does anyone know if Lake George still holds a lot of small panfish? I remember going there as a kid and catching fish but haven't fished it or been out to it in years. Lot closer to home then driving out to Clear in Waseca. Or would it be worth the trip?

Washington, Madison, Jefferson, all put out fish, and if in the right spot lots of Numbers of fish.

Well if you feel like sharing I would love to hear where those spots are! I too am getting some youths out this weekend. Should be quite the show if all make it out. I have been out half dozen times so far this year and defiantly haven't gotten into 'em. Like Rock said not worried about size just want the bobber to go down.

Just saw this now, but if you're still looking. Use the public access on the north side of Washington. Fish have been active in fairly shallow water when the weather cooperates. Marmooskas and spikes will do the trick. If you're not marking fish, keep drilling holes. Good luck.
