Mankato area spearing

Hello all,

I will be introducing a friend into spearing this week and I have not speared in the area since I moved here, and I was wondering where a good lake to go would be. The pike do not have to be huge, I want him to have a good chance on seeing fish. I was thinking maybe Reeds Lake, or Lake George. Any help would be appreciated!!

Those would be my two choices. Shallow and over weeds. I've gotten some nords from each of those.lakes recently.

I don't know much about the lakes you listed, but most of the area lakes seem to have decent northern populations. I don't specifically target northerns, but I seem to catch a lot of them on German, Washington, and Madison.

You'll get a table with a list of lakes and their pike abundance, pike size, most recent average water clarity, and percent littoral area (percent of the lake under 15 feet). Helpful information for a darkhouse spearer.

I would give Emily a shot. I know it drops off quickly but its plum full of pike right now.

Emily and sakataka both are very dirty, you can see maybe 2' down tops. They might clear up later in the year.
