I fished the St. Croix aong with about 300+ others out of Bayport Park yesterday. I am glad so many of you are out enjoying a fantastic sport and teaching your children how to enjoy it too. But......I am disgusted with the amount of trash that was left on the ice already this early in the season. Whoever you are...please note....I am not your mother and i didn't see her out there i don't think. I picked up your water bottles and empty propane tank, but please do it yourself next time. Being able to access this location through th park is really nice. let's respect it and hope that we can all continue to do it for years to come. thanks and happy new year to you all! Ps....if you see someone that leaves trash it is ok to respectfully remind them that they may have accidentally left some behind. We all own it together.

That is the trick, to politely remind them that they left something behind. And, if that does not work hopefully you know where their vehicle is parked on shore, or where they live and you can "properly" return what they forgot on the ice.

Makes your blood boil seeing trash on the ice. Thanks for cleaning it up. I frequent that stretch od the river each fall and love every minute of it!

It amazes me at how many have so little respect. I too have picked up bucket loads of others trash. Disgusting...

Its very frustrating to see this time and time again, everywhere we go. Thanks for doing your part, and it sucks to see but every little bit helps! A guy could make signs to remind our fellow fishermen but I'm afraid they would just get ignored and kicked over by the guilty.

A sign? I suppose a sign might help out a bit, but who needs a sign to remind them to clean up their messes? I will be paying closer attention to litte bugs in the future. Pease make sure it isn't you.

A PUNCH IN THE NOSE MIGHT HELP,with that said how much trash goes into the river people dont see, like during the summer months these same people are fishing the river, everyone needs to remind them,so sad

It amazes me how many pig-f*****s are out there. Everyone should be sent through the Boy Scouts as a mandatory program to learn the simple concept of "leave only footprints".

Just common sense should tell people to leave it as it was when you came. When my kids were younger we rented a seasonal site next to my parents and they would go for a walk along the highway and pick things up just a grocery sack each time but it made a difference for them. They still get upset when they see how big of a pig people can be.

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁

Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

Just sayen, not all the loyal old fans, can pay for the NFL viewing package!

New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.

Get ready. Any bets in a few years the average Joe NFL fans aren't going to be able to watch their local teams, unless it's pay for view!  Sounds like their greasing the wheels now.  There are 5 international games this year! ☹️ "The NFL will play a regular season game in Madrid, Spain in 2025, as the NFL prioritizes global growth and expands the International Games to new cities and markets around the world."

I have gone into Basswood from Fall Lake. From Fall the first portage takes you into Newton and that is the easier of the two. The portage from Newton into Pipestone is the one with a hill. It is definitely harder! You also have to be careful when you go down the hill because the boat will pick up speed and can get away from you. Yes, you can get to Jackfish without going into Canada and there are signs letting you know where Canada is.
