Just wondering how much ice is out there. Haven't had a chance to get there yet. Any snow on the lake? Thanks for the info, happy and safe new year.

I was out on Thursday. There was a good foot where I was at. Two small trucks were out. Me and Everyone else had wheelers. Not thick enough for me yet to bring the truck out. crazy

It's been several more days of cold weather, does anyone have an update on thickness of Green lake? I'm wondering if I can drive out past the point yet? If my auger is ready then I'm thinking of driving out on Wednesday with a Dodge Durango???

Alumacraft_guy,

Few people are comfortable giving someone the thumbs up to drive on the lakes early in the ice making season. There are too many variables out there. I do know people are driving some vehicles on Green but a lot of others hold their breath when they see it or have people drive by them.

It's your call but I wouldn't feel comfortable with a Durango just yet. 2c

I was on Green today and drove my full size chev truck out. There was 14 inches of ice were we cut or spear hole.

Ice is never safe and you should never assume it is safe no matter how many people you see on the ice or who may tell you its ok to drive on.

16" of good ice out there yesterday along with 2 inches of frozen milk.

Excellent. Thank you. I was wondering if they had much more than 12".

I will confirm the 16" of ice. We cut 2 spear holes today and the ice looks great.

Yep that correct and did your toes thaw out grin

Still a little cold but I can start to feel them now.

Cut a hole there myself and the ice is good and clear. That's quite a gauntlet of darkhouses just out from the access! Only saw one in use though...

It is a ok crappie lake and with a good chance at a walleye. Northern Pike are fairy easy to catch out there, if you target shallower water there is some nice gills in there as well.

No problem there is some other lakes that have been having a good bite lately as well. If you are working on the wally world that is just a couple blocks away from me. You can get bait from the bait store just north on 169 it is on the east side of the highway it like 2 miles north.

They will go away soon... it slows down there after people start driving out.

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁

Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

Just sayen, not all the loyal old fans, can pay for the NFL viewing package!

New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.

Get ready. Any bets in a few years the average Joe NFL fans aren't going to be able to watch their local teams, unless it's pay for view!  Sounds like their greasing the wheels now.  There are 5 international games this year! ☹️ "The NFL will play a regular season game in Madrid, Spain in 2025, as the NFL prioritizes global growth and expands the International Games to new cities and markets around the world."
