Submersible Trailer lights ?

klbowe

Question

Just blew a light on my trailer . The fixture is made by Wesbar and the single bulb cannot be replaced . I can buy a Wesbar water tight sealed module for $11.00.

Problem is the trailer has only been in the water maybe 15 times . Maybe it was a fluke but replacing the capsule involves re wiring and wires get shorter every time you rewire.

Has anyone had any problems with these signals ? Would I be better of installing submursible LED fixtures ?

Note there is no evidence that the seal capsule leaked and water hit the bulb.

If you have a moment please let me know what fixture your trailer has.
( if it has been a good one )

Thanks !

I always unplug my trailer lights when I back it in the water. I have the same bulbs in there since 1989. You may want to consider doing that.

We've got those sealed semi trailer lights on our boat trailer. We never unplug them, no need to as they are water tight. Had them on for years and no problem. There was a previous thread on here about them, you may want to do a search, or I'm sure someone will be along soon to give the name of them (because I can't remember the name, the hubby picked them up). Good luck.

Fishn lady , are your lights made by wesbar ?

Unplugging them may help but I agree if they are selling them as submersible and charging $11.00 for a bulb capsule you should not have to unplug the lights .

Found the previous post mentioned by Fishn-Lady by searching on Wesbar.

Very interesting reading .

Guess I will be looking for a set of trailer lights.

I am seriously interested in the LED style.

Has anyone tried them ?

Haven't tried the LCD's but I have never disconnected my lights on my Trailer that came with my boat and I have yet to smoke one and yes I put them in the drink every time. They do not have a water tight seal and the bulbs are readily replaceble. I guess as I think about it I have seldom, if ever, disconnected my trailer lights. Good Luck!!

I used to have the old style lights, had problems all the time. Try unpluging them, but if you forget, they go bad. replaced them with the sealed units three years ago, no more problems, if you go that way, make sure you get the watertight connectors as well.

good luck

Those wesbar lights are junk. I blew both of mine this spring. instead of getting new modules, i just cut them open enough to where i could take out the bulb and replace it. now i unplug the lights when i drop it in and have had no problem. that is the cheap fix to your problem.

I honestly don't know what brand we have, and I forgot to ask the hubby. All I know is that we've had them on for years, never unplug them when dumping the boat or loading, and have never ever had a problem with them. If I remember I will ask him, I would look at the trailer but it is neatly tucked away at the moment. Good luck.

BW is not a designated Trout lake. The limit is the same as state which I think is 5 bows. Don't think there is a size limit either since they don't breed.

Rotes, Hi, I just joined this forum and these corner caps are just what I have been looking for. Is it possible at this late date to get a set of these made for my Lund? The only difference I can see is the color of the material. Would you be willing to make a set for me? Thanks, [email protected]

Any move requires time and effort, but if you turn to a moving company for help, then some of the problems will disappear immediately. Firstly, the guys from the moving services always take care of the client's property, pack and carefully transfer your things to the car. Secondly, when moving with movers, you do not have to worry about the road, they choose the fastest and safest way, as they have extensive experience in transportation.

Anybody know how much the lake temps have dropped?   Are people have the most success with minnows vs crawlers when fishing with live bait lately, or are crawlers still working?

Snuck out last night, water Temps down to 54-56, last Thurs mid 60s. Fish were finicky. Leaves are changing quickly here, lots falling. Two weeks should be a lot better in the woods

I agree with the previous comment, you could save a lot of money by making your website first .. its design .. and then if you want to move .. but if you want, you can immediately ..-) look here: https://digitalsuits.co/hire-developers/hire-shopify-developers/

I think that even at the initial stage, you need to consult with specialists who have been working in this field for a long time .. and then you will really get the result .. otherwise you can spend a lot of time and in the end you will have to redo everything .. for example, look here: https://www.softformance.com/services/software-consulting-company/

The best solution in this situation is to create the software yourself, and then turn to testers who will check everything. Although, if you manage to develop software, then you will have the strength to test it yourself
