My nephew from Missouri si now living in the Cambridge area and would like to catch some pike. Numbers would be better than size. I might pickle a couple of 2#ers otherwise it will be all catch and release.

Any help would be appreciated

Alot of lakes in the area will work for what you want.

Fannie east of Cambridge

Fish lake by Harris

Florence(Pauls)south of town

Long Lake west of Isanti

Little Stanchfield by Grandy

Long Lake by Grandy

Are just a few I thought of.

Thanks for your help-I also like to find lakes I have to walk to.

In the metro I have one where I have to walk almost a mile. Fishing is good and the lake is quiet, just what I like. This kid is in his 20s and likes hard work!

The Black Eddy on the Rum River used to be great.

If that is the same one I'm thinking of it is too shallow this winter.

Keep thinking, I would even pay a landowner to get him on something good. He leaves for Brazil next year, poor kid no ice there.

Little Stanchfield use to be good when I was growing up but it's been years since I've fished there. Also use to have good luck on the two lakes by the road just west of Grandy on Co 6.

Did you fall down and hit your head some time?!

Just kidding, more power to you.

  • 2 weeks later...

You won't have to go far from the landing and you will notice a few spear shacks that is a great weed/ sand flat to start on.

Let me know when head out there I may be on the ice.

This weekend is getting shot to 'you know where' so looks like next weekend. Might do a couple of hours on a city lake if I am lucky, but would much rather be up there.

BRRRRRR! Gordie! I wanted to go out this weekend, but looking at the forcast, I am going to put it on hold. Stay warm, eat chili, and watch football! Good Luck

Was out on Fannie earlier in the week and jigging for crappies in about 18 FOW and had two tip ups set up off the weed line in about 8 feet. Got nothing jigging but had 3 flags in about 4 hours, missed two and got one 24 incher. Im new to the area so it was kind of a learning experience more or less for me but atleast pulled in something decent! ill be out there again probably tomorrow doing some more tip up fishing! Cant beat pullin a hog through the ice on a tip up

Welcome to HSO Ben. If Fannie doesn't pan out or you would like a change of scenery come out to Fish lake by Harris on Sunday.

Hope to see you there and I still have your number if it hasn't changed so I can give you a warning.

Not sure how they did the wood back then, but now they have plastic I'm sure you could bend into a circle if yea needed. 👌

What I really wanna know is:   How’d get that lattice to curve like that?  Bomb diggity!

Fish Newton lake is great for walleyes. Everyone goes to basswood and forgets about newton. The late fall pike bite in pipestone is amazing and it’s a great time to catch the big walleyes are up there feeding too.

It would cost you 830 bucks to watch every game this NFL season under multiple platforms.   I don't have peacock or espn+ or whatever they want me to have, so I'll just have to relent on being able to watch a few games.  I refuse to cave in to their demands just to watch the Packers play the Eagles in Brazil.  I think last year peacock had the exclusive rights to the Miami/KC playoff game too.  I'm sure that will occur again in January.

Well it's a win, but it wasn't to Purdy with all the turn overs and penalties!

Oop, must be another Vikings game.  So far it's been a Prudy game, Viks!  😁

Another prediction.   Under the cloud of "Woke Inclusion" Just like the Mn state flag and the Mn Twins, the Vikings name will be going away in a few years! Their already making them look like Snow flakes!  We can't have the uniforms of angry Norwegian people!  Sounds funny but. Wait for it! 😒

Just sayen, not all the loyal old fans, can pay for the NFL viewing package!

New frontiers.  Expand the market; make more money.  Despite some PR moments, they’re not in it for charity.   BUT, they might want to take a moment and see how that worked out for NASCAR.  Not that having to buy premium channels to watch races was the only problem but it sure helped kill the fever for a lot of people.

Get ready. Any bets in a few years the average Joe NFL fans aren't going to be able to watch their local teams, unless it's pay for view!  Sounds like their greasing the wheels now.  There are 5 international games this year! ☹️ "The NFL will play a regular season game in Madrid, Spain in 2025, as the NFL prioritizes global growth and expands the International Games to new cities and markets around the world."
