To Drive or Not to Drive????
A friend of mine just (12 noon) called me call be from the ice off of Pine Island. He said that Adrian's road is not open, but there are a lot of trucks out there today (Friday 12-19). He said when the trucks pass there is a lot of water sloshing out of his hole. He said the ice is 12 to 14 inches. Fish are biting like crazy. Lots of nice 16 inchers. So, I guess it's up to how comfortable you feel with the ice conditions.

Java-
Staying at Ships Wheel. Planned on doing it ourselves- I have everything except transportation- always just drove out in the past- now I'm a little concerned about ice. doug at ships wheel said he has seen 200+ vehicles a day go in/ out of adrians road- yet the road is not open- according to Adrians. I am calling doug tomm night- he was going to check for himself today/tomm.
Hopefully- ice is ok- I quess people are driving anyhting out of Zipple- so if all fails that is where we will head. Plan on heading down to red one evening for some craps!

How far is Red from Arnesens, that is not a bad idea to go for craps at night!!!

In the past we have gone out of Hudecs on Red. From Wheelers point it is about 45minutes. Arnseson is 30-40 minutes from Wheelers. don't know if there are any roads that go straight south that hook-up with 71.
It is definitely worth the drive. You will catch walleyes on red( cannot keep)- crappies are hit and miss. Two years ago- we caught our limit in 30 minutes.Awesome 12 -14 inch fish- Last year caught maybe a dozen between 4 guys!
