Sept. Full Moon

With the full moon phase being tonight I opted to hit one of the smaller local lakes for some sunnies and crappies this afternoon. The Bite was pretty decent, we found all our fish scattered just off a main lake weed flat in 8-12ft of water. With the light wind pitching 1/16oz jigs with 2in Northland Slurpies was the ticket, I find more water can be covered by throwing jigs than fishing with floats. Lots of moving with the trolling motor was in order but with enough action to keep us intersted. Water temp was 60 and air temp was like 80 Great Sept. afternoon!

After getting off the lake, I had a little dinner at home and got to the river here in town around 6:30. The bite started off pretty decent with a mixed bag of fish, nothing too big but good action. By 7 I had caught and released my first small walleye, by 8 I had thrown three more back and a decent nothern. I fished till almost 9 but didn't get another bite the last hour.

So, how did everyone else do tonight?

I wasn't in the St Cloud area, but I suffered through some wading on Mille Lacs (forgot my hip boots and waders so did it in old tennis shoes and grungy shorts) to catch two fish, one keeper walleye and one mama.
