I am not sure if Love being injured is a bad, or a good thing. The Wolves sure seem to play better ball when he isnt on the court to jack up shots, and complain to the refs. Anyhow, the Wolves come out on top last night, even though they deserved to lose. But Denver just deserved to lose a little bit more.

This is getting ridiculous. Starting to look like another year out of the playoffs. Mavs have a healthy Dirk, they'll start winning. Lakers will get it together and get hot at some point. That leaves your Wolves on the outside looking in. They weathered the storm, but once they got Rubio and Love back, they've been chronically injured or playing up and down. They're .500 now, but I think that's going to change...

Quote:
Kevin Love (hand) will be out for "a number of weeks," according to GM David Kahn.

Ouch. We knew Love was staring at a multi-week absence, and we won't know more until he meets with a specialist in New York this week. There hasn't been a decision made yet on surgery. In Love's absence, Dante Cunningham and Derrick Williams will both be tasked to fill the void, with Andrei Kirilenko and Nikola Pekovic getting a boost for fantasy owners.

Quote:
Ricky Rubio (back, knee) is expected to play on Tuesday, but he is still on a minutes limit.

Rubio said he feels pretty "good," but his conditioning is not in order after inconsistent playing time and having to sit ont he sidelines with back spasms. The good news is he doesn't have any pain in his back or knee, so owners should continue to exercise patience here where possible.

Well the Wolves need Ricky to get back in and start playing like he did before he got injured. They need Willaims to step up, this is more then likely going to be his biggest, and last big chance to be a star for the Wolves. If he doesnt step up here, I think he will be traded before the trade deadline. With all of the injuries, we need to have productive players that can contribute consistently, not streaky players.

Atlanta tonight, I think Adelmann is a good enough coach to design plays for the players he has to deal with if given a day or two to prepair.

I think JJ, Pek, and Williams make an impact tonight, but fall short, and lose a close game.

Nice game by Pek, got the win. Those guys are used to playing without Love at this point. Williams is getting some burn and responding.

The Wolves let them back into the game, typical MN sports team, go into a prevent defense.

On a side note, after the game last night, they had an interview with Kahn, and he said they think they need to add at least one impact player via trade. They are not just going to sit on their hands and let this season get away from them. Kahn said they have been on the phone trying to get a deal going, but most teams hold off to the trade deadline to get the best deal they can. As of right now, they are just trying to do the best they can, until they can get someone to trade with. He also said, they dont want to trade our future away, but they dont want to let this season get away from them either.

Hopefully they bring in someone to compliment the team not only this year, but in the future as well. No half a year rentals, for trading away picks, or prospects.

The way Love was playing lately I think the Wolves are better off without him for now. Hopefully he can get that hand taken care of asap and come back playing like he did last year. But his moping around, and lack of defense coupled with his poor shooting sure as he11 wasn't helping this team. It was also good to see Derrick Williams play a nice game, and make some outside jumpers.

Sounds like Rubio is going to play tonight, so he is ok to play back to backs now.

Early reports are that Love needs surgery, and will miss 3 months. But will know better details later.

Buddinger is talking to Dr's to see when he can return, aiming for March, but then he will need to get into game shape after that.

Why do the Wolves get hit so bad with the injury bug? This season I actually had some big hopes for them.

Adelmann out again tonight for personal reasons.

Love needs surgery, and is out 8-10 weeks.

Sounds like Adelman might be out for awhile. Something not very good happened, family? Health? Not sure. I hope all is well!

Hopefully Love waits until he is fully healed to come back this time. Pretty evident he wasn't close to 100% the first time.

maybe some time off will get his head straight to hes got nothing to complain about while he is sitting on the bench with a broken hand

Wow, I am not sure I would want to play for the Wolves. I think if Kahn was calling me, I wouldnt answer the phone.

Quote:
Lazar Hayward (illness) is questionable to play on Friday.

He was just re-signed to a 10-day deal, and the Timberwolves could only have nine healthy players on Friday night if he's out.

That has to be a first. A MN fan telling a player to wait until

fully healed before coming back.

This must be in the wrong thread..usually it is "hey quit your

whining" or "suck it up you sissy"...See Mauer, Morneau, Span, Ponder, Harvin or others of recent history.

Ridnour needs to quit stealing money from the team. Horrible.

Well I'm not quite sure what you were expecting from him but he is doing about what we could have expected from him. He hasn't done anything much different than before he was a timberwolve. In addition he is the only player to start every game this season which is exactly what this team needs is a player that can stay healthy right now.

And now Pek and Shved leave leave the game with injuries. This is becoming hard to believe. So much for that playoff talk..

grrr we hung in there and the refs just hosed us on a few calls...great game till I got in my car to leave and as leaving notice I didnt have my I5 phone with me!!! Tracked sum scum around downtown until 1. Had an app to track the phone and had him by garage C for a long time then I made noise with the phone and it took off followed it by gps for awhile until I figured I wasn't getting it back. Pretty frusterating to say the least!!!

Lets hope they can put together a trade soon, before their season gets to far out of hand.

Otherwise, they may as well just pull the plug, trade some assets, and try to set up another run next year.

How bout that jello-ball laugh and Chris Johnson though. They have came in and made a pretty big impact both games. Think they stay longer than the 10 days?

We needs butts on our bench. As long as they can produce, it will be theirs.

We cant go into games, and only have 9 healthy players. We have a few winnable games this week, and if we can win them, we will be right back around that 500 mark.

Although I am afraid, 500 isnt good enough to get in in our conference.

The sad part is they had to get an exemption from the league

to add Johnson. Steamer and DC should not be starters,

they are good 2nd teamers and role players.

Show me any other team that is missing one rotation

that would be in any better shape. None. Whether it

is starters or 2nd teamers, it is a full rotation that

is missing. Give credit to those playing, most seem

to be trying, unlike Be Easy and a couple others from

previous seasons.

So, that was you in the camo lund? I'm bummed, I have to head back to the cities tomorrow for a few days, then back up for at least a few weeks. Got the dock in and fired up to get out chasing some crappies till opener!

On the south end...   Lots of ice on the main basin, but it is definitely deteriorating.  Some anglers have been fishing the open water at the mouth of the Rainy River in front of the Lighthouse Gap.  The rest of the basin is still iced over. Pike enthusiasts caught some big pike earlier last week tip up fishing in pre-spawn areas adjacent to traditional spawning areas.  8 - 14' of water using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring has been the ticket.  Ice fishing for all practical purposes is done for the year. The focus for the basin moving forward will be pike transitioning into back bays to spawn,  This is open water fishing and an opportunity available as the pike season is open year round on Lake of the Woods. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. With both the ice fishing and spring fishing on the Rainy River being so good, many are looking forward to the MN Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 11th.  It should be epic. On the Rainy River...  An absolutely incredible week of walleye and sturgeon fishing on the Rain Rainy River.     Walleye anglers, as a rule, caught good numbers of fish and lots of big fish.  This spring was one for the books.   To follow that up, the sturgeon season is currently underway and although every day can be different, many boats have caught 30 - 40 sturgeon in a day!  We have heard of fish measuring into the low 70 inch range.  Lots in the 60 - 70 inch range as well.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  Open water is continuing to expand in areas with current.  The sight of open water simply is wetting the pallet of those eager for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th.   A few locals were on the ice this week, targeting pike.  Some big slimers were iced along with some muskies as well.  If you like fishing for predators, LOW is healthy!

Early bird gets the worm some say...   I have it on good authority that this very special angler caught no walleyes or muskies and that any panfish caught were released unharmed.
