I'm excited for these next few games. Hopefully Love can come back and play like his old self. They are talking about sitting Rubio out the second night of the back to back Wednesday against the Heat.

Love is suppose to play tonight. Rubio is scheduled to play tonight as well, then have tomorrow night off. But in an interview with Rubio, he said "that was the plan, but we will see how I feel" on Wednesday.

I'd still wait to see how things play out, but later in the year I wouldn't mind seeing a trade involving Luke/JJ and DWill for a 2 or 3 that can create his own shot. Ben Gordon has come up in peoples eyes. Not sure if we'd be getting enough back for that though.

I love Pek, but does it [PoorWordUsage] anyone else off how little he dunks on great looks inside? I've seen so many of his easy layups bounce out or get blocked when he could have easily dunked it.

Tough second half in Florida. Hope they can bounce back tomorrow night in Miami, but I doubt it. They made Big Baby look pretty darn good.

Big Baby had 5 fouls pretty early and we couldn't get him to get a 6th? That was a weak performance by our squad!!! Hopefully they make tonight interesting and maybe even surprise the Heat and get a W!!

Big win but how lo g are they going to continue to let Rubio go out there n almost cost them the game ? He is just not ready to be playing at the NBA level right now. Give him another month of practicing n bringing him off the bench with the scrubs until he can handle himself....

Josh Howard was released yesterday, he was playing decent but he did end up having a torn ACL in the knee opposite to the one he was recovering from. Tough break for a guy that was helping the Wolves out.

Malcolm Lee also out for season. Apparently Michael Redd is an option they're looking at. We need Ricky back so we can bundle a JJ/Luke combo with D-Will or something. We NEED a perimeter player who can create his own shot and shoot the 3!

I didn't see the first 3 quarters, but saw that Love had 7 assists. That might be close to a career high for him. Barea can be a stud like last night or total dud on other nights. I wish Budinger hadn't gotten injured. He could shoot the 3 and was pretty athletic.

Ridnour does nothing for me and I wish Williams could get out of Adelman's dog house.

I'm glad we don't have to watch Wes Johnson and Beasley anymore. AK-47 and Schved are much better all around players.

The Wolves have some nice breaks in our schedule throughout the year now. Perfect time to rest some players, and work on the chemistry with others. They have 1 more tough game to get through, then a couple more easier teams to play.

The Wolves should be well rested, and have a good game plan for Sundays game against NY. If we can come out of this 4 game stretch, with 2 wins, and 2 losses, we did better then I expected. But I was thinking the Magic game was going to be a win, and the OKC a loss. But a win is a win.

Gasol for Ridnour, Williams, Roy, and Pek? No way. Pek is worth way too much.

Reddick for Williams? I'd do it to win now, we need a good 2 guard bad. But I'd cringe if Williams blew up. He's never going to get that chance here so I guess you can't really hold it against him if he flourishes elsewhere.

Anybody got any other D Will trade scenarios?

I don't see D Will ever blowing up. He doesn't have a good jumper, and doesn't have the size to bang with the big's inside. Maybe if he started going up strong when taking it to the rim, but he seems to always try to put up those circus shots and that just doesn't work in the NBA.

I would take Reddick for Williams, but we would need to sign him to a future contract, I am pretty sure he is on the last year of his deal with Orlando. Kinda a tough give a way for a half a season though if he doesnt resign.

I dont want to give up Pek, I want him to be our Center for many years to come.

I would hate to see Gasol in MN, especially at the expense of Pek. I love Nikolai! I'd do Williams for Reddick. I heard rumors about Ben Gordon but dont know if that is feasible. It does get me going though.

The way it sounds is they are going to scrape the bottom of the barrel of the free agent pool, and try to get some one on the cheap, just to have another warm body on the bench for Williams to talk to.

Lazar Hayward was in yesterday trying out, and I guess if he passes a physical, they will sign him. I cant imagine he is near game shape though.

Just a thought,

Any thoughts of Raja Bell from Utah? He is in the dog house there, and hasnt played this year. It is his last year of his contract, and I think we could get him cheap.

We just cant get a break. Lee out for the season, Love got an eye injury, and is out for a couple games. It would have been nice to have Love against NY tomorrow.

Roy goes from supposed to start to needing another month. Kahn as G.M. has a batting average with drafts and free agents about on line with McHale as G.M.

With the early ice out, how is the curlyleaf pondweed doing?

On the south end...   The big basin, otherwise known as Big Traverse Bay, is ice free.  Zippel Bay and Four Mile Bay are ice free as well.  Everything is shaping up nicely for the MN Fishing Opener on May 11th. With the walleye / sauger season currently closed, most anglers are targeting sturgeon and pike.  Some sturgeon anglers are fishing at the mouth of the Rainy River, but most sturgeon are targeted in Four Mile Bay or the Rainy River.  Hence, pike are the targeted species on the south shore and various bays currently.   Pike fishing this time of year is a unique opportunity, as LOW is border water with Canada, the pike season is open year round. The limit is 3 pike per day with one being able to be more than 40 inches. All fish 30 - 40 inches must be released. Back bays hold pike as they go through the various stages of the spawn.  Deadbait under a bobber, spinners, spoons and shallow diving crankbaits are all viable options.   Four Mile Bay, Bostic Bay and Zippel Bay are all small water and boats of various sizes work well. On the Rainy River...  Great news this week as we learned sturgeon will not be placed on the endangered species list by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.     The organization had to make a decision by June 30 and listing sturgeon could have ended sturgeon fishing.  Thankfully, after looking at the many success stories across the nation, including LOW and the Rainy River, sturgeon fishing and successful sturgeon management continues.   A good week sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River.  Speaking to some sturgeon aficionados, fishing will actually get even better as water temps rise.     Four Mile Bay at the mouth of the Rainy River near the Wheeler's Point Boat Ramp is still producing good numbers of fish, as are various holes along the 42 miles of navigable Rainy River from the mouth to Birchdale.   The sturgeon season continues through May 15th and resumes again July 1st.   Oct 1 - April 23, Catch and Release April 24 - May 7, Harvest Season May 8 - May 15, Catch and Release May 16 - June 30, Sturgeon Fishing Closed July 1 - Sep 30, Harvest Season If you fish during the sturgeon harvest season and you want to keep a sturgeon, you must purchase a sturgeon tag for $5 prior to fishing.    One sturgeon per calendar year (45 - 50" inclusive, or over 75"). Most sturgeon anglers are either a glob of crawlers or a combo of crawlers and frozen emerald shiners on a sturgeon rig, which is an 18" leader with a 4/0 circle hook combined with a no roll sinker.  Local bait shops have all of the gear and bait. Up at the NW Angle...  A few spots with rotten ice, but as a rule, most of the Angle is showing off open water.  In these parts, most are looking ahead to the MN Fishing Opener.  Based on late ice fishing success, it should be a good one.

Nice fish. I moved to the Sartell area last summer and just thought it was windy like this everyday up here? 🤭

Crazy windy again today.... This is has been the norm this spring. Between the wind and the cold fronts, fishing has been more challenging for me than most years.  Panfish have been moving in and out of the shallows quite a bit. One day they are up in the slop, the next they are out relating to cabbage or the newly sprouting lilly pads.  Today eye guy and I found them in 4-5 ft of water, hanging close to any tree branches that happened to be laying in the water.  Bigger fish were liking a 1/32 head and a Bobby Garland baby shad.   Highlight of the day way this healthy 15incher
