MN River Going to Die?

Recommended Posts

The Minnesota is always nicer in the winter when it isn't raining. Chemicals and sewage are one thing, but will they ever get a handle on the silt and erosion? I know they are trying to add buffers and such but it seems out of reach to me.

Hey thore, you doin any good?

You know Dark to tell you the truth this has been the toughest fall for me in years. I am probably averaging only 1 walleye per outing with nothing over 22". I have tried everything from current, rocks, sand mud transitions, wingdams, 20'+ deep pools. I just dont have it dialed in. I thought it would be much easier with the present water levels. How about you?

I remember a college biology professor at MSU Mankato telling my class back in the mid 80's that we would live to see the Minnesota river only run in the spring due to global warming. I sure hope he was wrong...

I think I had the same prof. He talked non-stop about how the whole world was gonna dry up in the next 5-15 years. That was 13 years ago..... Sounds like he keeps pushing back his timetables. I don't want to get into a global warning debate on this thread - I believe it's real - but this guy was a little extreme.
