I didn't fish any shallow bays tonight, but the perch will also stack up on the shallow reefs in the fall...and I didn't see/catch any tonight. I did have a few bites where the bobber went up-down-up-down, etc. ad infinitum, but I didn't catch anything that bit that way. Probably were dinky walleyes, but might've been perch? I dunno.

I do hope I can find some shallow perch this fall, though....there's not much better than finding some jumbos in open water while waiting for the night walleye bite to start. smile

Got my first real jumbos of the year last night....but they weren't shallow. Caught them in 24/25 feet on mud/rock transition. Tried all sorts of depths last night, and that was the only place we caught any perch.

Anyone seeing any Perch in Isle bay yet? I have a few days off and am thinking about heading up tomorrow to chase them and was wondering if it is worth the trip.
