Obviously, I aint gonna just throw it away.

I have a whole bunch of old 12 ga shells my Dad made in the 80's. Plus 300 win shells, and misc pistol rounds.

Can I simply walk in to the Sheriffs dept or Police station with all this stuff?

a reloader may be interested in them to disect and use the lead... especially if one has a bullet puller to pop the bullets out of the 300 and pistol rounds...

Some of the shells are really old. Safety comes to mind..But thank you! I will look at some local re-loader shops as well.

My dad used to reload shotgun shells...When i threw out the trash and lit it on fire there were a few times i had to RUN!! shocked

So trash is not the best idea...Especially if you burn! laugh

Local Law Enforcement will always take it. That how I started collecting old shell and ammo boxes. EOD would dump everything into drums and eventually dispose of many lbs of it at one time during training.
