Splicing Transducer Wires?

HOGEYE

Question

Was wondering if splicing a trans wire will affect the performance? Have a Garmin 100 on the boat with a crushed wire.

No you can not spice your wires, they must remain whole (uncut). It has something to do with resistants or something like that.

Hogeye,
I have spliced my Lowrwnce trolling motor mounted transducer wire 2 or 3 times and have not seen much change in its performance.
Just slide a shrink fit tube up the wire, seperate the twisted outside wires from the center single wire, solder the 2 center wires together, tape them with a little electrical tape so that they can not contact the outer wires, twist the outer wires together and solder them, pull the shrink fit tube over them both and heat it with a lighter.
Fixed!!

I had to splice the wires on my Lowrance X91 to extend the power. 18 gauge wire worked fine. Just used butt splice connectors and electrical tape.

What we're talking about is transducer cable which is a coaxial cable. Tom has a point regarding resistance in that coaxial cable is tuned (matched) to a set resistance (ohms). Your finder beams at a specific frequency and at a specific power. The (tuned) coax allows for the least amount of resistance at those variables. When you splice coax, you change the resistance value of the coax.. That being said, depending on how good a job you do splicing, the performance difference probably isn't noticable. I would bet on some of the bigger more powerful units (ocean type) you would notice for sure.

Yep. It's tough to make a good splice. I splice underground high voltage and there's an knack to it.

The wire isn't a coax, but has 4 or 5 different wires wrapped as one. I spliced each one and it works fine.

Good deal! Interesting it's not coax. Haven't seen a ducer with multiconductor wires. Were they twisted in pairs?

Yes, you can make good money at the casino, but I think that this is unstable earnings, and situational, if you play every day, you can get into very large debts. I was advised this casino - https://onlinecasinospill.no/ , I tried and made no mistake in choosing, there is a huge bonus system, constant promotions for any holidays and a bunch of different slots that only improve the game, also the probability of winning is quite high, I was able to earn a small amount of money, I advise you to try

Филипп 9:29 In order to avoid unplanned expenses, you need to immediately discuss all the nuances with the contractor. In fact, there are many options. But it still seems to me that it can be done independently, even bulky things with several people can be loaded and moved on by themselves

I agree with you, but not completely, because you can win once and bet a little more, that is, set aside 80% of the total amount, and then play for the remaining 20%, I think this is a good option, and in any case, a person will win

As far as I know, there are several companies in Boston that are engaged in full professional relocation, it takes a little time, but they take enough money, I saw a couple of ads on the Internet about such work, you can also find performers of this order there

For a long time I wanted to turn to a good programmer so that he would collect applications for mining for me, but I could not find it and abandoned this business, now this thought is returning. I came up with such an application that no one has, but no one can assemble it, everyone refuses. I looked at the site that you advise, quickly read it, this company made a good impression on me, I will carefully read it in the evening, then I will contact them and if they agree with my idea, I will order.

The creek  bite has been nothing short of awesome as we come to the end of Sep.... Some days are definitely better than others, but even the slow days plenty of fish can be caught if you put in a little time and effort.   3 and 4 inch z-man plastics as well as grub style plastics have been getting the job done for me again this week.  Also been using some number 5 shad raps just to change things up a bit... 😁
