Check out AT.... the word "archery" and "talk"....

I ahve bought two bows off there with no issues. Sellers have buyer feedback so you can see who you are dealing with...

Good luck!

Nice to shoot some first if that's an option but if you're buying online an get something in your price range that's a good deal and fits what you're looking for I wouldn't hesitate to buy. Got the itch, eh? Ha!

Any true bow shop (not a store like GM or cabelas) will have used bows as people trade in and upgrade.

anytime you buy a used bow, imo its always a gamble. you have no idea where that bow has been or what has happened to it. with that being said, you most certainly can buy good used bows, but you never know.

i was burned on a bow that i won at a banquet. it blew up once in my face. i got it fixed and then sold it to a friend. it blew up again, and since it was my friend i refunded him the money.

bottom line, be careful on buying used bows.

true, i agree a new bow or a used bow could blow up in your face. however, if a new bow blows up in your face and you filled out the warrenty paper work most times a store will cover you. if its an over the internet purchase, you are s.o.l.

I would hardly say Bwana is the only place to go, but it is one of the true archery shops in the metro. Unfortunately for me they are on the other side of the cities from me.

Cabin Fever is in Victoria in the SW metro. They are my first choice and that is where I have all my work done. I was just there today for myself and my daughter. The service is awesome and I've bought new and used bows from them.

My second choice is Schaffer Archery in Burnsville. They are extremely knowledgeable and have always had a good selection of new and used bows.

Ive never bought a new bow I dont think.... Bought my last one off C-list but it was from a friend of a friend kind of deal. Draw it back, shoot if possible, inspect the string and limbs... new or used, theres always going to be lemmons out there. But id reccomend a used bow for sure.

Unfortunatly, bows are like pickups or computers, the value is about gone thing once they are a year old. If your smart and know what you want and what to look for, there are some great deals out there! But most definatly go to a bow shop and shoot some different bows first, I found out I didnt want what I thought I wanted crazyGood luck!

Back when the DNR was seining our beach in July I asked, and apparently they were through oak narrows.   But long way to go to get to us.   I'll keep my eyes open and my mask and snorkel on.  Didn't see any sign off them this summer.

Nice job Troy.   We are happy with our opening day for ducks.  2 man limit of mixed species by 10am.  LOTS of people where we were today but that was expected.  Other than getting beat to our spot, no issues that would keep up away.  Not even the rain.

Thanks, I'm riding this now TW200 so not sure I can get on any of the ATV trails. Might have to sled by in the winter! 👍

There are actually 3 tree carvings on the trail from Soudan to Ely.  I saw 2 of them but missed the 3rd.  I believe that trail is the Prospector Trail #4 or #6.  You have to start from the parking lot on the Murray Road 2 miles past Soudan since several property owners on the old railroad bed didn't allow off-road vehicles on their properties.  Another option is to travel from Tower to Embarrass then on to Ely, but that adds a couple hours to the trip.

I've seen that caving on a few web pages. What trail is that on?  It would be cool to ride by. 👍

The colors are getting good. Beautiful time of year. Maples are full red and birch and aspen are going too.  I’m not finding a formula for walleyes. Best luck when fishing saddles and shoreline drop offs 10’ down to 20’. I’m using old crawlers, too, because a) it’s hard to find minnows although Northwoods in Cook has them and b) it’s been too warm to keep them alive.  We do have a change in weather happening right now. Wind is coming up and the temperature is dropping. It’s going to be hard to fish Saturday through Monday but the change could be good after that.  Good luck, you’ll need some. They are out there and you’ll get dinner but you’ll have to work for them. RLG

Thank you. Yes, weather does look sketchy but we'll make the best of it. Looking forward to the colors and just getting away.

Some more heavily fished lakes are tough ALL season.  Lake Minnetonka and Mille Lacs come to mind.  The water is clear, there are tournaments all the time, and the fish are not easy to catch.   That is why I focus my efforts on lakes with less pressure.
