David Lake -August.

Anyone willing to share a tip or two for an August Lake Trout trip into David Lake?

Not looking for spots, just patterns, colors, trolling vs jigging,,etc.

We had a cabin on Sandpoint for 23 years before our lease ran out and the park took it.

If I were to trout fish on David in August I'd probably troll. We always used down riggers with great success. As for where it always varied.

Spoons with white were always good as well as silver husky jerks.

We also did some jigging around the islands or schools of baitfish we found on the depth finders.

Also the weedbed to your right as you enter the lake is a great place to troll rapalas or shad raps for a variety of fish. It goes for several hundred yards along the shore.
