HI, will be at Sand lake for a week this month and I was wondering if anybody could point me to a good bass lake in the area. Thanks!

There isn't much for good bass lakes directly around big sand. If you wanna travel a little, head towards the talmoon/marcell area, there's a TON of good bass lakes. Pm me if you wanna drive there and I'll put you on some good fish.

Hey fishuhalik, i am coming up and staying on Sand labor day weekend, but would like to do some smallie fishing also. thinking about deer, any other lakes you think would be good for smallies. i have fished turtle, kind of tough, really freakin deep.

Deer's a good one, probably one of the better Smallies lakes in the area. With all the structure on that lake, it'll keep ya busy for a few days. I can't stress enough to use light lIne out there. 8lb max, preferably 6lb. Even 4lb wouldn't be a bad idea. You'll see em up shallow around dusk/dawn then switch to around 15-17' (if I remember right, been a while) once the sun clears the trees. Hope this trip goes better than the last one!

Pokie's to hard to crack. Clear water and tons of structure make it tough. Fishing has been good for eyes this year cuz of the smelt die off, so it might be a good year to try it. If deer's no good, try wabana. Deer's better but wabana can be really good at times too
