Mid-December Trip help

Recommended Posts

We've never fished LOW before, and my Dad would like to go in Mid Dec., as he's heard the walleye bite is pretty good then. He would like to stay in a lodge with a meal plan. My question is what resorts would everyone recommend for that time of the year as well as customer service? Thanks.

Riverbend has excellent food and they will transport you to and from the shack if you can't drive yourself. Always done well there, we head up the day after Xmas.....Good luck, once you make the trip you'll be back for more...... laugh

Ice conditions at that time of the year can be spotty, but will generally be better on the East side of the lake, out of the Wheeler's Point area. Hopefully there is good ice everywhere and early this winter, but if you are set on that weekend the East side will be a safer bet.

I don't have a lot of experience with service and resort accomidations but I'll bet you'll have a similiar experience wherever you choose.
