Like I said when everyone said we wouldn't get a 1st for him...We got a 1st rounder and more smile

Will miss Percy's playing but not the antics.

Well done Spielman...if your pics pan out laugh

I cant stand head-case athletes like Percy. He signed the contract. He let his team down by not being with them the rest of the season. Good riddance. The fact we got something for him is even better. This is the kind of deal that can bring down Seattle. If his attitude doesnt improve or he is perpetually hurt (not a good track record, small guy, plays recklessly, etc) this could backfire on them.

seroiusly?? AP's effort is unequaled, and he has the character to match. Percy should have taken some lessons...

He's got the talent, I'll grant you that, but his whining and games put him just a small step above Moss, heart wise. We can do better, glad to see him go.

Don't even compare him to Moss, Percy never has, and never will take a play off. The fact that once he gets the ball in his hands and wont go down is the heart I was talking about. Pound for pound, better than AP

So Harvin was the 22nd pick in the 2009 Draft, now we have the 23rd and 25th pick in the Draft....hopefully we can get a Harvin replacement at roughly the same spot. Let's hope for another Diamond in the rough, how about a NON-headcase this time.

Vikings just traded Percy to Seattle for this years 1st and 7th round pick and a mid-round next year.

I hate to see Percy go, but at least they got some compensation. They need to have another draft like last year.

Really wish he would have been engaged here, since in the beginning of the year he was my favorite player. Hopefully we can make the picks pay off.

Wow, Hope they get something is the means of a top receiver in the FA market. Nice to have some weapons mature for this year.

good trade for both teams..we are rebuilding the right way while seattle's going all in...if these picks pan out i see us in playoffs esp if we get a fa wr...this is a deep draft so i am liking our chances to get two more blue chip players..loved harvin but hated all this drama. my worst fear would be we do nothing, he holds out and we get nothing....or he plays but hits the sidelines like last year..cant have your players going off on your headcoach like that..

Harvin will do well in a new situation, and reunited with Sidney Rice. Good move for the Vikings.

Besides getting three draft picks they also free up cap space that can be used to target a FA receiver, such as Greg Jennings or someone similar. With the way that Rick Spielman has been drafting, they should be able to find another young WR this year.

We only freed up less then 1 million by trading him. It will be hard to replace him for that price.

The Vikes should use the Seattle 1st round pick and go get Cruz... you still have a 1st round pick, a known comodity in Cruz, and an extra 7th round and an extra mid round next year. Not a bad scenario...

Good Luck!

Ken

I am kinda disappointed in Lmit!

He didnt quite make the connection.

Cheeck Harvin gets traded to Seattle Washington, right after Washington makes toking up legal. Coincidence? Maybe, Maybe not

I cant believe Seattle caved that early and gave up 3 picks including a 1st for him. When the 49ers got Boldon for a 6th round pick, yeah hes older but he has 3-4 solid years left and isnt a cancer in the lockeroom or injury prone. I hope Havin turns into Sidney Rice in Seattle and falls on his face.

If he couldn't get along with Leslie Frazier, it'll be interesting to see how he handles Pete Carroll.

I do to. They better stroke that ego for this queen real good. He should just go join Marbury over in China.

If there is a coach in the league other than Belichick that could mentor a head-case, it would be Pete Carroll. The guy did wonders with head-cases at USC.

Schmitty, Percy didn't have a problem with Frazier...his problem was with PONDER!

Frazier was just the middle-man...

harvin has had blowups with all his coaches including at florida.. he basically did whatever he wanted to do and blew off the coaches..(prima donna) thats why he will be seeing it rain in seattle the rest of his career!! we got lucky cause the niners wanted him and seahawks knew it and jumped in.. for once we got on the right side of this...we do need to bring in a backup qb. a legit one...cause ponder has had a history of injuries going back to college too.. luv all this talk and am excited about the possibilities..

Wonder why Harvin had such a problem with Ponder? Pretty sure he was leading the leauge in receptions before he was injured. That offense was built for a slot receiver. He is an silly-me.Dont let the the door hit you in the behind on your way out!

How does everyone know his problem was with Ponder? Anyone have any thing solid to share as far as info? I have not heard any release by the Vikes or Harvin the entire second half of the season through yesterday as to what the issues were, I don't believe they even officially said he melted down on Frazier... all the radio mouths say it was about Ponder, but seems to be a lot of speculation.

I'll share this observation from last nights sports feeds on fox9, 45, 11, 4, etc. Watched Percy closely last night, all touchdown plays, he never hugged, high 5'ed, or even acknowledged his teammates after scoring, he only shined the light spreading out his arms on himself. Rudolph waited for him to get up after scoring, couldn't wait to celebrate it with him and no dice, Kyle just pulled back his hands arms and went for the sideline, many others didn't even waste their time running to the endzone to rally with him. Never saw Ponder in a clip with him after scoring and they all weren't kickoff returns. Generally humble types will share the glory a little, I didn't realize he was that consumed with himself.

Now I didn't see likely all his TD deals but if you wish watch the ones from last year, I assume all of them were from last season, he shows 0 love or appreciation for any teammates, how can't a young punk respect his elders or more veteran players, he almost appears to have some anger management issues so I hope in Washington he can keep hitting the hippie salad, he has to be more fun to be around when he's dialed up.

it doesnt matter now.. he's gone...let's see what seattle pays him...cause technically he's under contract to them now....this whole trade is based on them getting him an extension which i hope they hurry up and do....hopefully by end of day....seattle wants to win it all this year so i think they will give him a good raise but not megatron money...he burned all his bridges with management here and demanded out...so they obliged..let it rain percy!!

No doubt McGurk they all seem to have a few things in common athletic talent and cabbage. We are so numb to it, you go see all these families wearing Moss, Carter, Harvin jerseys yet basically all would be deemed near criminals because we realize drug use means drug dealings means shady people means would you want that as your neighbor lol. Just re-read that I better add Leaf, Marinovich lol and that tall dude from Jacksonville was it Matt something before I have to answer to the racial police.

I'm not there, so I can't tell exactly what's going on but it looks like a large area of open water developed in the last day with all of the heavy snow on the east side of wake em up Narrows. These two photos are from my Ring Camera facing north towards Niles Point.  You can see what happened with all of snow that fell in the last three days, though the open water could have been wind driven. Hard to say. .

Black Bay had great ice before but a few spots near rockpiles where there were spots of open water. It looks like the weight of the snow has created a little lake in the middle of the bay.

On the south end...   Thanks to some cold spring weather, ice fishing continues strong for those still ice fishing.  The bite remains very good.  Most resorts have pulled their fish houses off for the year, however, some still have fish houses out and others are allowing ATV and side by sides.  Check social media or call ahead to your favorite resort for specifics. Reports this week for walleyes and saugers remain excellent.   A nice mix of jumbo perch, pike, eelpout, and an occasional crappie, tullibee or sturgeon being reported by anglers. Jigging one line and using a live minnow on the second line is the way to go.  Green, glow red, pink and gold were good colors this week.     Monster pike are on a tear!  Good number of pike, some reaching over 45 inches long, being caught using tip ups with live suckers or dead bait such as smelt and herring in 8 - 14' of water.   As always, work through a resort or outfitter for ice road conditions.  Safety first always. Fish houses are allowed on the ice through March 31st, the walleye / sauger season goes through April 14th and the pike season never ends. On the Rainy River...  The river is opened up along the Nelson Park boat ramp in Birchdale, the Frontier boat ramp and Vidas boat ramp.  This past week, much of the open water skimmed over with the single digit overnight temps.   Areas of the river have popped open again and with temps getting warmer, things are shaping up for the last stretch through the rest of the spring season, which continues through April 14th.   Very good numbers of walleyes are in the river.  Reports this week, even with fewer anglers, have been good.  When temps warm up and the sun shines, things will fire up again.   Jigs with brightly colored plastics or jigs with a frozen emerald shiner have been the desired bait on the river.  Don't overlook slow trolling crankbaits upstream as well.   Good reports of sturgeon being caught on the river as well.  Sturgeon put the feed bag on in the spring.  The bite has been very good.  Most are using a sturgeon rig with a circle hook loaded with crawlers or crawlers / frozen emerald shiners. Up at the NW Angle...  Ice fishing is winding down up at the Angle.  Walleyes, saugers, and a number of various species in the mix again this week.  The bite is still very good with good numbers of fish.  The one two punch of jigging one line and deadsticking the second line is working well.   Check with Angle resorts on transport options from Young's Bay.  Call ahead for ice road guidelines.

With the drifting, kind of hard to tell for sure, but I'm guessing about a foot and still lightly snowing. Cook end!

How much snow did you get on Vermilion?
    • Mike89
lake here refroze too...  started opening again yesterday with the wet snow and wind...  very little ice left today...
    • Hookmaster
A friend who has a cabin between Alex and Fergus said the lake he's on refroze. He texted me a pic from March 12th when it was open and one from 23rd when it wasn't. 🤯
    • SkunkedAgain
I don't think that there has been any ice melt in the past few weeks on Vermilion. Things looked like a record and then Mother Nature swept in again.   I'll give my revised guess of April 21st

As I get older it's really not just about sending bullets down range.  Some of it's just the workmanship of the gun and the wow factor. The other two guns I have really wanted which I'll never have now because of their price, is a 8mm Jap Nambu and 9mm German Luger.   Just thought they always looked cool!

I had a guy hit me with a lightly used 1969 BAR, he wanted $1650 with an older Leupold scope. More than I think they are worth, I made an offer, he declined end of story.   You know if you look at the old brochures, a grade II BAR sold for $250 in the late 60s, $1650 would be a good return on your investment.    Why would anybody want a 50 year old gun, they are heavy, have wood stocks, and blued metal.  I guess mainly to keep their gun safes glued to the floor. lol   You can probably buy a stainless rifle that you never have to clean, with a synthetic stock you never have to refinish, is as light as a feather, and for half as much money, perfect.   I'm too old for a youth gun, although I've shrunk enough that it would probably fit. lol   No Ruger 10/44s.   Jim
