Mille Lacs lake guide Report

The weather has been a bear the last week, north wind at 30+ then west at 35, then south west at 25-30 all with rain mixed in. Man talk about playing the field this week.

No fluff Report, Rigging is still the best approach when weather and wind rolls in. Switching to a plain crawler on a 6-7ft leader has produced better than a leech at times this week. The minnow rigging bite is also very strong when you find they dont want the leech or crawler. Bring all three, you will be glad you did. A single colored bead works great on the single hook crawler rigs..orange, yellow, etc.

Blades, if you can pull them with out to much wave jerking and side roll they are the way to go but if you cant keep the boat moment to a minimum forget it, you will be pulling the bait away from them all day, you will still get a few but not like you should.

Leadcore- we do have a leadcore bite going on although it is just getting started..don't read into some of the reports. One day it works great others you are just burning gas and drowning lures.

Hope to see you all on the water!
