I believe if it is above 3500# you need brakes on one axle. I'm not sure what the requirement is for both axles, but it is quite a bit higher.

I know this has been brought up before and some one checked and found what Lip Ripper said. When I called the local scale to find out for our shop trailer they told me any trailer over 3000# needs brakes on all axles.

As the others have pointed out, weight is going to determine what you will need for brakes. A few years back our 4 place Floe ( 2000 Model ) trailer needed new brakes, I went to the dealer to get 4 new assemblies and he informed me that I only needed 2 and it wasn't necessary to replace all 4 unless I wanted to. At that time, they were selling the identical trailer to ours with tandem axles and that trailer only had 1 axle with brakes.

If I'm not mistake our trailer has a 18 foot bed not including the V front.

I have a home made 4 place snowmobile trailer that has mobile home axles under it & the brakes are junk. The brakes on MH axles aren't replaceable - the backing plates are welded to the axles. My thought is to have the backing plates cut off, buy a backing plate & have it welded on, then getting complete brakes assemblies & bolting them on.

I haven't called any welding shops to get a quote, but got to thinking - do I even need brakes?

Here is what the MN law says:

Trailer Law

Now I'm questioning if I even need them - I don't think that trailer weighs over 3,000 pounds with the sleds on it.

What does anyone else think?

Thanks

Doug

I to after buying a 7000 # gross weight 2 axle trailer had the same question after seeing it had brakes on only one axle. I talked to manufactor Triton and didn't get a answer I was at ease with, so I then contacted a Minnesota DOT inspector that inspects on the road truck/ trailers he had to re-read a couple time but it depends on wether its used for hire(contractor) or personal use which mine is that being said he stated I was legal.

Police brutality is a concern right now in many areas, and everyone is working to safeguard their rights. But it is this situation itself that needs to be examined. Having knowledge of police brutality was really helpful to me. Try this at . There is a ton of information here https://supremestudy.com/essay-examples/police-brutality/ on it, which you may also examine in further detail huge learn more about. I hope it will be helpful to you

Finding between 3-7 inches of ice around most of the st cloud area. Was on one of the bigger lakes and one of the shallower ones in our area today. On the larger lake,  lots of ice in the bays, but main lake had roughly 3 inches where I checked.  The Shallow one had right around 7 inches.  Fish bit very well on one, and not so great on the other.

Polkiss this...   Logging is the only way out of the Smokey the Bear debacle. We've created so much fuel in the understory from fire suppression. Logging, BIGTIME may be the only answer. Top off the past century of fire suppression with now hundreds of thousands of acres of bug kill in our mature forests when as much as a bug farts, millions of acres lie waste to everything from fire, even micro organisms in the soil. Then heavy rain, or snowmelt washes away what's left...... Log Baby Log 👍👍 and flood the mills with wood, not ash.

many thanks to you all for providing the information.  it is appreciated.

Knowing and comprehending it myself For instance, logging has increased significantly over time. This can't possibly be permitted. I can speak for myself when I say that we now need to consider how to read about this essay [source] because I was able to learn a lot and even used this information to write a course at the university. Therefore, if anyone needs some knowledge about deforestation, it is useful from both a theoretical and practical point of view. Everyone must protect the environment!

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the safety tip.  Always good to know where springs in lakes are!  👍

Ok I did not check ice thicknesses yet but green, blue, baxter, lori, and elk all had anglers on them. I hope to check thicknesses soon.

There is also some springs in the way back of blue lake ( In nashwauk MN) If you go back there you may run into some if you go to the right or the left there is some both directions so I would suggest not going back there or if you do i would check the ice every 25ft or so at least have fun out there
