Need rod storage material answer

Murdock

Question

I am extending my rod storage by 2 1/2 feet in my 16 foot Lund Rebel and am having difficulty finding a plastic/fiberglass type of material, (similar to the material used for plastic kitchen cutting boards)for the end caps. I only need two pieces about 7 inches wide by 20 inches tall, hopefully about 1/2 to 3/4 thick. Does anyone know where a guy can purchase this type of material or have any other suggestions as to another type of material or methods, (other than treated wood), I could use? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

years ago while residing in Iowa, there were numerous manufactors producing various types of roll plastic. it was produced in various lenghts and thickness. they made it for walling in hog confinment building.Should be able to locate on line..Other option would be shower stall wallboard. Definately would be water proof & easy to handle.

Murdock, check these below, thay are starboard panels I have:

They are approx 11" x 24" x 1/2" thick. I don't know if you can make enough material due to the cutouts, but they are $ 4.00 each.

Find yourself some Starboard, I think it is made by a company called King. It is easy to work with and is impervious to sun, salt, water, and will not crack, rot, fade, or warp. It is used for an incredible number of things by every premium saltwater boat manufacturer. If it holds up in southern saltwaters, it will be totally bulletproof in northern freshwaters. grin.gif
