Please be careful straying from trails. North west angle is dangerous on a good ice year.

That would be the snowmobile trail. Technically a no-go for ATV's.

The black stake trail is in fact the state SNOWMOBILE trail and is intended and mandated as a trail for vehicles with tracks only. Please check with Sportsmans lodge for details on where it is "safe" to venture off trail. Lots of dangerous ice conditions out there if you don't know exactly where you are or where you are going. Be safe!

Wow mwalleye actually sounds spooky. Please be careful its way early for exploring. Let folks in the know get there first eh. Were you alone too?

Jim I am starting to wonder if this feller was all the way to Oak?

Someone actually staked a trail from south shore to Oak? crazy There has to be thin ice spots where all those breakers opened up not long ago... You can still see where those breakers are on satellite images.

Ya I heard sportsmans staked it but I see that it close to maped snowmobile trails and I do agree that wheelers should not be on them but there is not enough snow to be a snowmobile trail thanks for all the info how far then off the trail would someone fish and to not disrupt the trail as it does go over and around places that I would like to check out.

The club stakes it. In the past Sportsmans has been paid to groom it.

Fisky, I agree I personally would not want to head for Oak from the south, without talking to someone who has been up there marking that trail. considering that crack was open just over a week ago toward Knight, Bridges and Garden. Could be some pretty thin ice under you in area's up that way. I have a map of LOTW that I got a lot of years ago, and it shows area's around Oak etc that are as you mentioned never good ice due to the currents that move around those islands....

Well, we netted a half dozen fish with the new net and I think I like it.  The biggest was a 45 and everything worked out real nice. Bringing the fish in was easy and then laying the net handle across the gun wale of the boat was enough to keep the fish and bag in the water and in pretty straight shape to work with.  Even with my 40 that needed the hooks cut off, the fish was completely in the water the whole time.  The only time any were out of the water was for a quick measure and photos.  No twisted gnarled mesh to deal with for the most part either. It proved to be worth the space!

Beautiful day to be on the water, but such a struggle catching fish.  Marking a lot of fish and just as many bait balls or some other underwater clouds that the game fish were keying in on.  Ended up C&R a lot of really plump Sunnies ( thinking they haven't spawned yet?),  2 Northerns, several pieces of timber, 2 slot Walleyes, and a great sunburn. All within 12 hrs of fishing.

I'll try to make it. Does 8 am work? Might go for other species too for fun.

Another good a.m bite for me and my wife today , ( Thurs ) on Big bay . Nice fish again . Our limit of keeps , also put two back . 8:00 - noon. . . .  Hey Cliff , I’m gonna try to send you a p m .

Was in Big Bay once again today and saw a few more Mayfly today than Tuesday . I agree things are just kinda getting going with the hatch , and also believe that these bugs will last until well after the 4th of July . With that being said , I also believe that fishing should hold up for awhile until the fish become so gorged out that things could come to a screeching halt later into this whole bug period .

Mine does not have an auto fan setting on the dial. I wish it did.

Setting the fan to high or low the fan runs continuously. Set the fan to auto fan will start/stop with the compressor.
