McNabb Gone in MN--About time...

There are several teams pretty beat up at QB right now. I bet they released him out of respect so that he at least has a chance to sign on with someone else.

Not sure if anyone would have interested after what he showed this season but I could see perhaps Chicago taking a look at him as a stop gap until Cutler is back. He might not be able to make every throw needed but he won't beat you with stupid mental mistakes that doomed chicago last week.

I could actually see him in Chicago. He can hit Forte in the flats and do enough to keep offenses off balance. More importantly, he can give Chicago some insight into the Vikings. That last game of the season against Minnesota might mean playoffs or bust for the Bears.

It only took him 3 months to teach Ponder everything he knows. Hopefully Ponder forgets all of it.

SkunkedAgain...Do the Vikings have some secret schemes the Bears need to know about??grin

Good for him.

I hope he gets on a team and makes it to the playoffs and ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

and knocks off the Packers. grin

The Vikings just went to the washed-up QB well one too many times, as I predicted, when they announced bringing McJunk here (after thoroughly laughing my butt off). Eagles didn't want him and Washington couldn't get rid of him fast enough, but oh no, not the Vikings! Only the Vikings would be dumb enough to completely ignore that little fact and bring him here with a $5M house warming present to boot.

No team picked Donnie up off of waivers this week, yet we have QB's in the league named Palko, Delhomme, T.J. Yates, and Orlovsky taking snaps this weekend.

Nice job, Leslie. waytogo.gif

Just a minor correction: He can hit (the general area on the ground behind) Forte in the flats...

He had his chance to prove himself this year and couldn't do it. I honestly thought he was going to give us a decent chance at winning some games. Boy I was wrong.

If our defense would play the 2nd half McNabb would still be the starting QB.

The bottom line is that McNabb is not the future of any franchise, least of all ours now that he is gone, and getting Ponder the reps he has gotten this year will prove to be invaluable next year.

Yep, I've said the same thing.

Once our chances of getting into the playoffs were shot then it was time to put Ponder in.

At that point it didn't matter what McNabb did or didn't do, we know he wasn't our future.

No one has picked him up. That says a lot. He's done, plus it's pretty late in the season for a team to pick him up. McNabb should start thinking retirement and if he wants to be on one of the tv networks.
