Fishhouse furnace issue

Have a suburban vented propane furnace in my fish house. Problem came up where the furnace burns with big puffy orange flames (should be blue) which produce black soot on the exhaust and eventually shuts down.

Anyone with knowlege of what might be the suspected problem? Bad propane, regulator going bad, furnace need a cleaning, all the above possibilities or other? Hoping to tackle within a few weeks, just wondering what might be most likely.

im no expert, but sounds to me like a lack of oxygen to the burner

BB, if you have a local RV dealership or camper store the service guy there should be able to point you in the right direction. Alot of the fish house furnaces now a days are the same as or similar to what is in campers.

My guess is a mouse nest or similar. Peek around your intake / exhaust area a bit.
