I fished on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. I have been walking out from the Morris point and areas just to the west of there, and fishing in shallow water in the afternoon. Friday I saw folks on 4 mile bay on sleds crossing and I also saw a little white Samurai putsing around. Walked out from Morris that afternoon and there were perhaps 20-25 portables out there. I did'nt see any atv's or sleds but I walked on a path for a while that looked as if someone had rode out on a 3 wheeler, it may have been blocked from my view or they departed before I walked out?
And yes the fish are biting good!
fiskyknut
[This message has been edited by fiskyknut (edited 12-01-2003).]

Bring your wheeler! You'll be glad you did. Pull your portable don't drag it. Wheelers running all over within fishing distance of shore. Also there is laths stuck in the ice out to decent fishin depths.
I should be out there right now!

the LOW tourism told me there is 9" of ice out there around Pine Island. I called to find out if the high winds did any damage. She stated that it had not and that there was 9" of good ice. THIS IS ONLY WHAT I WAS TOLD. BE CAREFUL. I will be up there Dec. 11th and was told the rental shacks are planning to be out in full force before then.

I'll definately be up there Satuday and possibly Sunday. I will be fishing by myself so if anyone cares to meet up or join forces, let me know. I'd be more than happy to meet some fellow FM'ers, it will only be my 2nd time on LOW ice.
Fisherdog

Central America. Focus. We almost went for a local overnight crappie run but the daughter’s septic froze so I got to work the brown trout pond through a 4 inch hole. It was opener today afterall. 😉

Ok, how did we get from crappies and freezing temps to pond slime eaters in south America? Focus! 🙄

The locals there shoot ducks but don't hunt them. If they see a bunch on a pond they'll sneak up and water swat them but it's strictly for food not sport. My buddy runs an outfitter so him and I will hunt a few days and scout then I'll help him with a group whose coming mid week. He's from there. Hoping he can come to Canada next year with me. He's never seen or shot a goose

Awesome kind of trip! I figured there would be a local benefit if you couldn’t bring them back (not saying you can’t). Having a connection down there is pretty cool! We donated a good share of meat to the village in Kotzebue, AK instead of shipping it all back. Pretty pricey and they really appreciated it. Win/win.

I don't bring them back, eat a lot then clean them for the village. Some like them plucked and some like the breasts cut out. It's really remote where I go and the locals live off the land. I know they want me to go get some doves for them too. My buddy is a local so we'll probably go get a deer as well for some venison for some of the elders in the community
