Wondering how this ice is out of long point or zipple? Might try it on sat. Or any area that anyone recommends would be the safest to go out of. Thanks for any info.
------------------
Where's my crew??

schmick
Ice is good off Morris Point out past Pine Island. Walked out today. 20-30 other houses out. Caught one sauger missed three in the morning. Had stuff to do this afternoon. Fished in 15 feet of water. Did not see others doing anything special. Would be nice if we could get some more posts.

Use extreme caution in the South point/Elm area. I walked off the south point, and there was 6 inches till 12-13 feet. Then there was less then 2 inches... I backed up quick after my auger went through after about 4 turns... Yikes. Of course the main crack had to open up on my return after fishing too... Always fun jumping cracks on foot...
Fishing was fair...

Just got back from the big lake. Plenty of ice!!! We went out about a mile and there was still 5 good honey-combed inches of ice. We fished out of Morris Gap on Saturday morning and only caught one sauger. Left there around 10:30 and had lunch back at Adrian's. We out in 18' of water just over Pine Island and started popping the saugers around 3:30. It only lasted until about 4:30, but we caught around 45 total and kept 16 between 4 of us. Amazingly we landed to 1+ pound perch in the same spot around 4:45. Fishing was fair, but it sure was fun sitting in the shack again after a long a$$ summer.
