What gun to use?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what gun to use this fall for my 10 yr. old daughter? I have a 25.06 or a 260. I found low recoil shells for the 260, and think that might be the ticket. Or do you think the 25.06 would be ok? I guess I ll take them out and try them this summer and see, maybe I need to look for some thing even smaller. thanks for any info.

Find a lead sled and bring her to the range with it. When it comes to shooting a deer with it she wont feel it any way.

I'll just say this about Lead Sleds. Be carefull. With the little to non existance of recoil absorbtion the chances of cracking stocks and loosening scope rings/mounts is a possibility.

If you don't make shooting the gun all about recoil it WILL NOT BECOME AN ISSUE! I have introduces many people to shooting and I tell them "it going to kick, but worry about hitting your target first". I have also found that using the lead sled without weight makes a nice solid rest and still allows the gun to move a bit with the shot.
