Well eri, I've been up 4 times so far once before xmas an the last three weekends, an each time thursday or friday had a front move thru, an sat an sunday came a high pressure cold snap that shut things down for me, the last two time I was obligated to go an the first two times I was scratching a deep itch to soak a bobber. I dont really like to fish wen a high pressure cold snap sets in, the funny thing is that after i'm back home i hear all the stories of so an so pounded them an we did great an it was slow but we took home a limit. Your booked with a credible opperation an i'm sure you'll catch fish. Good luck but it's just not my most favorable weather to icefish. let us know how ya do. Boar

Boy could you make some money if you had the answer to this question even 50% of the time. I've had days that were really tough and the weather was beautiful. Last year my wife and I crossed Pine Island, and the truck thermometer said -40. For two days it never got warmer than -23, but the fishing was great. The pressure however was stable the entire time. So flip a coin I guess and hope for the best. A bad day in the fish house is still better than a good day any where else....Good luck

If and when the weather is steady, fishing will improve. Pressure has more to do with success than temperature, however barometric pressure and ambient temperature are often tied together at this time of year.

Sustained cold weather doesn't bother the fish. A major, rapid change in pressure can either turn them off completely, or turn them ravenously active.

Nice thing about Arneson's, they'll do their best to put you on top of active fish. If you still can't get em' to cooperate there's no one else to blame but Mother Nature.

Good luck. I'd lay odds you'll catch fish despite the upcoming cold weather. Just might be slow going.

Thanks to all that replyed. I guess I should be happy that I'm in a fishing chair and not an office chair. I'll give you the low down when I get back home next Wed. To make everyone happy I will now change from mad to laugh!! Thanks again!
