I am guessing you are talking about the Big Bobber Tourny? Yes they allow alchol on the ice... Ummmm as far as results go.... I fished it the past two years and didnt catch a thing... Last year I think 100 places got prized and only about 50-60 fish were caught in 3 hours... Its alright if you want to support MSU athletics... personally I dont think the prizes are really worth the price of admission... I could be wrong though.

Good Luck!

I have fished it 3 times, nothing the first year, a Guide Lite sled the next year and a Ice 45 last year. Prizes are not like Brainerd or Fishapooloza but lots less competition, I cant complain about my results.

I fished it the first year and was one of the lucky ones to actually ice a fish. Some of the prizes had to be raffled off due to not enough fish caught. I came away with an ice rod and some real weeds which probably paid for my price of admission. I haven't been back since the first one though. Like some previous have said you can get better prizes for the same admission price to some of the other big contests in the state.

I'll be fishing it for the 2nd year this year. Watched a few fish get caught last year, only a few super light bites for me though. Sounded like a decent amount of prizes were given away. Looking at the list for this year there are a few good items it seems.

I'll be there regardless.

I'll be there. I fished it the past two years. I got drawn for 4 hockey tix my first year. I have yet to catch a fish. I'd be willing to meet up with whoever shows up from FM. I met a few great guys last year while out there.

its $35 a ticket and if you want another hole its $5 more. i fished brainerd last year with tons of other people and they only had 150 prizes although they were more expensive prizes. i am an msu student so i really am thinking about going for the fun of it. its glad to here some people have had success!

I saw that about the spearing get together. I'd like to stop by if you guys are doing it after the tournament just to see what it's all about. Any idea what area of the lake you will be spearing at?

Well, the tournament today was fun. I ended up catching two perch, both small. Placed 84th lol. But did win a shimano rod & reel, so it wasn't a complete bust. Many people sitting around me go skunked.

I was out on Washington today. Fished from 4 30 am to around 11 Am. Tried near the deep hole on the east side of lake. Not a single bite. Moved to the big point on the west side of lake. One baby perch. Very disapointing day. ;(

Was out and got three real lite bites on the spring bober but couldnt connect with them, just as soon as the nibble was there it was gone.

Probably small perch. I had a bunch of bites, but couldn't connect with any of them other than the two I weighed in.

Andy - You look like the guy that was sitting next to me.Were you by yourself, and what side of the tournament did you fish on?

Yep I was by myself with an otter sled fishing the right edge. Which would put you two holes away from me where you pulled out those two jumbos? I woulda been one of the many around you that got skunked ha.
